I know guys who were Captain at TWA and CAL at age 23 and 24 respectively. Both were on the B707, no funky little AirBus.

I read a post a while back that there was a 24 year old 747 Captain. Right place and the right time.

I dont see the big deal about it...have plenty of friends in the AF that are flying C-17s C-5s etc that are 24,25 years old. Have another friend that flies Block 52 Vipers for the SC ANG and he is only 21 right now (was 19 going starting UPT)!

crewdog,
You are right..also during the 80s PeopleXpress had a 26 year old female capt I remember reading

I've got a friend who got hired in Spain at 19 and upgraded this year at 23 on the Airbus A-320.

FD

I upgraded on the Metroliner at age 26...... ah yeah, never mind. Not quite the same.

Yeah, I hear ya. I upgraded on the BE-200 at 20. Still not a A320.. oh well..

I think this guy PFt'd. Read article, "self sponsered"= PFT as it was explained to me by a Norweigen that went to Oxford.

That's normal in Europe. Sad but true my friend.
