Whataburger:

Nope, I do not own any such jacket, no Members Only anything that I know of.

I may have been at such a fly in, though, as I try to fly or ride my motorcycle ever year to the RFD EAA Fly-In breakfast.

Andy:

Your point is that you are so well prepared that you are going to retire from airline work while you're in your 50's. So what. Sure you could quit the UAL/CAL job if you want, and I can understand that, but the point I am making in my comments is that now things are better because others can retire when they want, early and as late as age 65. Some may want or need to work to age 65 and others may want to quit at an earlier age.

And obviously, the reasons for age-60 that were given by you and others for keeping age 60, being safety have been thoroughly proved wrong. There have been no incident or accident related to an over age 60 pilot.

You still say you are going to retire early. OK that's your choice. My view is that if a person has the money and hates their job, they should definitely retire as early as possible. Andy, if that's you position, I'm sure you will enjoy your retirement as much as I have enjoyed mine. And yes, I've been having a great life in my retirement, great car and motorcycle trips as well as time with my family.

The great thing now is the choices are available now that were not there before and that makes the airline job better. I'm glad I may have had a part in making the job better for others, including you.

No, your point was to be juvenile and personally attack me because I support age 60 retirement. Your personal attacks on me were uncalled for and I will not remain silent while you continue to soil my name with your unfounded accusations. I must have really gotten to you that you are still attacking me so many years later. For what it's worth, I haven't given you a second thought until I read your attack on me. You simply are not worthy of my time.

No, you have made this job MUCH WORSE during your time as an active pilot. You and your ilk gave away work rules in order to preserve a couple extra dollars an hour in wages. Only a delusional fool would think that being an airline pilot is a better job today than it was four decades ago when you started flying for United. Which is likely part of the reason why you never took an entry level airline job when the age changed, in spite of your continual proclamations of just wanting to fly for the love of it. No, it's all about the money for you now.

No, you obviously haven't enjoyed your retirement, as you're on here whining yet again about the age change. You not only have to fly Falcon 10s in your retirement, you're out there spending your days working as a DE and even whoring yourself out to Salvi, Schostock, and Pritchard (ambulance chasers) as an 'expert' witness just to make ends meet.

No, the latest over 60 pilot who was involved in a major accident was Miguel Perez Soto, less than 2 weeks ago. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lan...ane-nose-dived-crashed-into-mountainside.html

You are simply a pathetic old man who did no financial preparation for retirement. Look in the mirror. You screwed up. You didn't save anything in spite of making big bucks for more than 5 years after 9/11.
Instead of accepting personal responsibility for your financial screwups, you're on here churning out bitter posts, using me as the target of your financial blunders. Grow up and take personal responsibility.

Members Only jacket? I believe Whataburger; he's a credible poster. You - not so much.
You sold your plane several years ago. You've probably gotten a reverse mortgage on your house. You're out there looking for any job you can get to earn a few bucks. And you can't even afford new clothes. Have you sold your motorcycle yet? You'll be selling off your possessions one by one to survive.
You are the stupid grasshopper from Aesop's fable. http://www.umass.edu/aesop/content.php?n=0&i=1

I haven't posted on this thread in months and had no plan to ever post on it again. But you chose to personally attack me because you're an immature dirtbag. Go crawl in a corner and die, you delusional bitter old man. No one will mourn your passing.

So old, yet so juvenile. Dorky looking hat in your photo, by the way.
Absolutely pathetic, old man.

I really can not understand why you choose to make insulting comments rather than address the issues in discussion.

I think the issue has been a discussion about whether age-60 was being maintained as a safety issue or just something to get the senior pilots out of their seats. My position is the latter and the proof has been the record of those pilots over the last 5 years.

It is commonly said that when a person resorts to insults, it's because they have nothing left in their argument.

That wouldn't do any good. He's a sociopath.

Well, he is a scumbag. I don't think there's any doubt about that. But a sociopath? I think that may be a little much.

You chose to insult me first. I returned the insults. I'm done here, you delusional old fool.

Who put who out of who's seat here?! You claim to have been fired for age. But the exact language of the rule change you spent all that time trying to make happen would have put you right back into the cockpit immediately*. Except you figured you were too good to sit in a seat like Andy's, so you didn't take the job. You decided it "wasn't worth it". So now you're going to pick at Andy because you think he's exaggerating about early retirement. It's no different than what happened to you Undaunted: The retirement age change has made Andy's last years five years as useless as you saw yours being!!** The reality is you took yourself AND Andy out. In fact, you put about as many pilots out of work as lorenzo did!! Nice job! Forgive us if we don't feel too "fraternal" toward you...

*For all you know, someone you wrote all those letters to was looking out for you personally and had that sentece (allowing your return) added trying to help you out. Should have just gone ahead from the beggining and let them know it was the seniority you wanted, not just an end to "discrimination".

**I think you should hang out Andy. I think it might get better than you think it will. I think you'll catch a break.

The way it looks, if Andy stays with UAL he will probably just become a junior Captain about the time he turns age 60 or there abouts, and he says he will retire before that? I'll be waiting for my thank you note as he continues on to age 65. No body quits when they finally get in the left seat after a career of waiting.

If it takes that long to see the left seat, I don't want it. By the time I'm sixty, I'll have more important things to worry about than how many stripes I'm wearing.
