The corp. plane is large, which is a plus. If the 121 is a commuter, than it should be a no brainer as far as the money and quality of life.....corp. Which is closest to your home, days off, etc.? Ah!, who gives a sh!t, just flip a coin and go to work. Logic and skill most likely won't come in to play any way.Don_Juan said:I need some career advice: Majors or corporate??
I have a fill an upcoming F/O slot in the Challenger601 and a class with 121....... Which one should I take?? Need some help please?![]()

EAP said:I have a feeling if it was a good 121 (ie, a solid LCC/major) the question wouldn't be asked, but I'm ASSuming here.
Whatever you go for, enjoy it, have fun, and keep your resume sharp![]()

My professors and flight instructors at Riddle always told us that the majors are the way to go. The pay and job security is more stable at a major airline than at a corporate outfit. Not to say that there isn't any bad corporate outfits out there.Don_Juan said:I need some career advice: Majors or corporate??

Sounds like the corporate gig may the better option then!!!RiddleMan80 said:My professors and flight instructors at Riddle always told us that the majors are the way to go.
Obviously they have had their head in the sand for a while... ask any USAir guy hired since 1988 Yes, I said Eighty-Eight, 16 years seniority), or any UAL guy hired in the last 6 years (over 2,000 of them) or a BUNCH of former TWA guys how they feel about their "Job Security"... Of course you can't get furloughed from a furlough so I guess it is pretty secure... There are a TON of unfortunate major guys on the street right now who would disagree with your above statement...RiddleMan80 said:My professors and flight instructors at Riddle always told us that the majors are the way to go. Now why would someone want to leave a CL-601 F/O job probably making better than $60k/year to go fly for ComAir or ASA making $20k/year???RiddleMan80 said:If you take the 601 job, that will give you good experience and make you very qualified to interview at a place like ASA or Comair.
If they did, it's because they're the kind of person who works for years in order to become qualified for and accepts a job that clearly requires you to wear a hat and earn crappy pay, and then spends their time bitching about wearing the hat and the crappy pay, as if it were some sort of big suprise.Falcon Capt said:Now why would someone want to leave a CL-601 F/O job probably making better than $60k/year to go fly for ComAir or ASA making $20k/year???![]()
