So, IF these planes go to ASA are you all going to jump all over the ASA pilots?

No, because these planes will never go to ASA! They will be dangled by JA and BL until the last possible minute to pressure us into a sub-standard contract. Then, at the 11th hour, it will be announced that Skywest has been awarded the flying because ASA's pilot costs are too high! Its all so apparant how they play this game. They already know who is doing this flying. They just will use this to pressure ASA pilots, then portray us in a negative light after SKYW gets the flying. IMHO, Skywest will end up with all DCI 70-90 seat flying, with Republic having all EMB170 flying. The more 700's and 900's Skywest has, the more it reduces the costs of that flying. It makes no sense for SKYW to have 20 900's, and ASA to have 10. It is cheaper cost wise for SKYW to have 30 and ASA 0. So, eventually all of ASA and Comair 700's will go over to SKYW. Comair will end up with whatever 50 seat flying Delta needs in CVG, JFK, DCA and BOS. ASA will end up with whatever 50 seat flying Delta needs in LAX and ATL. So, don't buy this whole we need to be competitive to get these 12 700's. Skywest is the Golden Child, ASA is the Red-headed stepchild.

Hello Newman,
Please stop typing. You are embarrassing the SkyWest Pilot group. How is that BHO gonna work on a standup? What is going to happen to the "Split-Rate" when Jerry gets done with ASA, and beats your pasty a$$ down on the 50 rates? Perhaps you don't have it bad. However, reveling in others misfortunes is very unbecoming. Ask some of the guys who have been around a while how things have changed. By a while, I am not talking about your Captain, who has been around for 4 years. I am talking about the 15-20 year guys. Take off your blinders son.

SkyWestRJman - 115,000 is nothing to brag about. How are your FO's doing?

This was worth reading again...

It's so nice to see that everyone believes we get all of this flying base solely on the amount of money our pilots make. It definately has nothing to do with our performance. It would be nice if someone would release figures on the amount of money we save DL and UA in on-time, baggage handling, and how much money we generate with out customer satisfaction levels. But then again, what would be the point, right? RFPs are only rewarded based upon the cheapest paid pilot group!

Nice job, homeboi. How is the back holding up? Now if we could all just get a day off to get the usual suspects to play together somewhere. Give me a holla next time you are in la.

I don't blame the guy, he's ignorant. not stupid, but ignorant about what is going on in the rest of the industry. Many don't have the perspective that the other side may have, and I guarantee you very very few have ever received the dreaded furlough notice. Hell, no one else but us in IAH had ever had a base close down (pdx downsized...).

Deerkiller,

You are right...never thought you'd hear that from me, huh??? Until there is some sort of horrible thing happen over there, the guys who get their 8month upgrades are going to be happy and thus content. If the guy who makes $110K a year there thinks that's gonna continue while guys at GoJets are making 1/3 less to fly the same plane...then he will have to wait to see how it feels when at SW tailnumber is being flown by some new company and he has to now commute to some other base or get downgraded.

How's the short game?? dont' tell me...I can probably figure it out.

Fighting ignorance one day at a time, or as Ron white put it..."You can't fix stupid."

I just hope we can all learn from Comair and our individual groups can stand up more like they did. Good luck guys.

Skywest is getting everything anyway, like a big F-ing black whole.

Performance? How many times do your gates in SLC get used in one day? 5 times maybe? In ATL, double the number along side the traffic in and out of this place and factor in how Delta builds the lines. For DEC, DA handed ASA lines with 13 planes more than we have gates... On the ground at ATL the same time.

You guys think you're special because you performance numbers are good. Let me enlighten your cool aid drinking self. Your pilots are no better than anyone else's. Your performance relates directly to ramp crew's, available gate space and amount of airspace traffic not to mention weather.

Get over yourselves and lose that lame argument. Wait until you start doing trips through ATL. Your tune will change.

Seriously! What are ASA's SLC performance numbers??? I'll bet every bit as good as SKYW!!!! As well as all outstations. ASA is very reliable with good maintenance. It is ATL and Delta's utilization of ASA in ATL that is the problem. Lets trade with SKYW and see if they are truely such better performers than ASA. What a crock. You guys are clueless! The funny thing is, when they come to ATL, they won't get the true picture, because they will have a limited flight schedule, with plenty of turn time, and park over on A or B. Not a true comparison of what ASA is forced to deal with.

Wow, but you didn't want to touch the United side of our operation with a 10-foot pole, huh? Oh, it's only SLC. I mean we never have daily flow in ORD or SFO, and they NEVER affect any of the flying that transition over to LAX and DEN. Nooo. But that's ok, you keep drinking your Delta kool-aid while I look at the BIG picture of SkyWest Airlines TOTAL operation.
