Try Dallas BBQ, wait they shut down the Times Square location, there is another BBQ place a block away on 44th I believe called Virgils, but not as good. You may want to make the trip to the upper east side or visit some of the other Dallas BBQ locations. Get their Baby Back Ribs...mmm yumm...
My gf and I will be going on holiday to Cali next week. Were flying into LA and staying with my parents for a couple days, then driving up to SF on Friday morning on the 5 freeway past cow country. On Sunday afternoon, we're planning to drive down to Carmel/Monterey area then heading over to...
Cool, hey I'm heading out there next week, Its kind of too late but maybe next time you head out there do this. I signed up with Omni Hotels as a preferred guest(free -on their website) and they sent me a coupon for 50% weekend stays at any OMNI excluding NYC for the weekend plus another coupon...
Its great to see a space shuttle launch, flying in airplanes all day definitely numbs you to see how these heavier than air machines get up in the air. There's a certain queasiness when the countdown begins until the shuttle lifts off. I think deep down we all wish we could be astronauts when...
Awsome, I cant wait! Hope everything goes ok this time. Heres a recap of what happens on launch day.At T minus 20 minutes a planned 10-minute hold begins. When the countdown is resumed on-board computers are commanded to their launch configuration and fuel cell thermal conditioning begins...
Im planning on working in China once I get my Chinese down. Right now im learning my native language, Japanese. Does anyone know the pay in China for commercial pilots?
My friend has unfairly banned from flightinfo.com. His name is Turpentyine, he never received a notice or was never sent to the penalty box. He would like to know why? Can he get his account reinstated? He sent numerous emails and never got a reply from you guys.
Im working on an Airport Management degree from Farmingdale SUNY. My main goal is to be a pilot and fly for an airline and getting this degree is a backup in case of anything. I love being around airplanes and working at the airport seemed like the obvious second choice, but like some other guys...
I've been thinking about moving down to Florida to get my Certificates once I finish my BA in Airport Management from SUNY Farmingdale next year. My gf wants to move to Texas around the same time, specifically San Antonio. Im ok moving to either city, but which one offers better flying and...
I made this website on the Airbus 380, but I am missing some information. I need the fuel capacity of this bird. I know its going to be 15% or so more efficient than the Boeing 747 but does anyone know the exact specs.
thanks
Any flight instructors
Are there any flight instructors out there who teach at Republic Airport with their own airplane? Please PM me with your rates and availabitlity.
True, it actually takes about 30 minutes walking, or 15 with the bus. Hey, you dont go to Farmingdale do ya?
Im getting my degree in airport management, and going to start flying at either CTL, or Nassau Flyers. What about you?
a ziggity zakzak
what im trying to say is my school, Farmingdale SUNY charges you double of what local FBO's were to charge you if you were to get your PPL w/them. nam sayin? :)
I find it kind of weird because they run there own FBO on the airfield and are a public state-run school and...
Boy, you dont want to be going to my school. The reason being they make you take 2 semesters to get your PPL and charge you $6,000 per semester.. now thats wack, when you could go 5 minutes across town to the local FBO and do it for 7g's.
GO Farmingdale!
Thanks for all your replies, they are duly noted. As for my friend, he is switching his CFi because he believes that he is being milked and subliminally forced to take ground school with him by saying he needs to know this stuff in the Jep book before he flys..bs
BTW, do the 141 schools charge...
Yeah it would make sense to read the book yourself at home and bring up w/your CFI whatever you dont understand.
I have suggested that to my friend as well as going to a ground school course where the cost is significantly lower.
BTW, there are 3 tests you have to take to get your PPL...
I was wondering what some of you who are working on your PPL are paying for ground school. My friend told me his instructor is charging him $30/hour and it takes about 2 hours to complete 1 chapter of the Jeppesen Textbook, mind you their are 11 chapters.
$30 x 2hr. = $60/1chapter
11ch x $60=...
