24 in my class at SWA. 3 retired military and 2 reservists. All the rest civilian. Classes surrounding mine same story. Can we all get off the civ-mil thing...it's pretty stupid either way you look at it.
I got hired second time around. I had the type, strong internal and external recs and...
It is a simple box change in the avionics compartment. Had a fault light a few years ago and when maintenance came out to switch the box it was programmed the Southwest way with round dials. They said that was the default from the manufacturer due to the number of orders from SWA and that the...
I would say from post #6 on down this got WAY out of hand.
I would concur with CT. I thought Cardinal was saying AA as well. I skimmed through the posts before I went back to the link. Thought the response was a bit strong. I lost a parent in a military aviation mishap...from one who has...
I think Panama City is a mistake. They have totally lost the Pensacola AND Mobile crowd. All of the places you mentioned above can drive to Pensacola very easily. The airport is right off the highway and they would pull from a larger geographic area AND a larger population base. Panama city...
Love this one.... "as the pilot descended, he lost control of the plane" ....but here's the kicker.... he "landed in the southbound lane facing oncoming traffic." Nice. I'm diggin' the quality reporting on this one....NOT. That pic looks pretty well controlled to me. "lost control" sells I...
OK....this should bring some interesting responses. I'm not trying to stir the pot and I'm not a conspiracy theorist but just found a couple of pieces of an interesting puzzle.
1. WN just decided to delay the codeshare with WestJet.
2. May 1st RP (Industry News section) says "WestJet in...
So that means I HAVE TO like it????
READ IT and then think about what ALL of it adds up to, I would say less of what we have now. I'm not angry, but why not just leave what we have in place and give us a cost of living pay raise. We wouldn't even be taking up internet bandwidth over it, would we?
Woo Hoo.....released today and have to be purchased by tomorrow.....hmmm......great deal......not to be cynical, but how many active duty Marines, Soldiers, Sailors, and Airman do you think can get a leave request pushed through their chain of command in one day? Good for the press, Nice...
side note on benefits...
The difference in the medical/dental/vision coverage for a family of 4 is about $400 a month ($4800 a year) between AAI and WN. Over the course of a 30 year career I figure that is about 144,000 canollis. Bada Boom, Bada Bing. Isn't that 4th year captain pay at AAI...

Question....
Not to sound like a detail-minded Jacka$$ (I mean there are descent looking chicks on the vid), but did anybody notice that at the 1 minute mark in the video, the trusty captain suddenly has no captain stripes on and then they are back on again. OK...enough of that...bring on the...
Spoke w/ PD on Friday and they said probably February if they start out the year like they did last year, and March if they run a bit slower. They have no news on the pace as of yet. Interviewed 6/14 with the type.
I interviewed the first time in Nov 05 and 2nd time June 07. If the count of my fingers and toes is right I think thats about 19 months. Got the call after the July DB. Same deal, class 1st quarter next year. Definitely happy to be here and proud to serve. I had the type the first time and...
