As a Delta pilot I agree with WaveFlyer. He's brought up a lot of concerns about this current TA. We kept talking about how we were going to nail down scope, now we're going to give away more flying.
I know a down people here will talk about less 50 seat RJs, but they are going away anyways...
After talking with people on my last few trips, it probably won't be that close. Everyone has basically given up. Same people will probably be screaming when a 76 seat RJ takes over their commutes home.
I do too. Thre are too many here that are jumping for joy over the TA. I thought maybe in ATL there would be some, but not in NY. I don't know, there are a number of that see thru this agreement, but far too many that are scared to say no.
True, but those 717's will come no matter what. If Delta needs them, they'll get them. I'd rather work on our T/A and make sure we get it right, rather then rush and spend the next 3 years regretting it.

General, there is truth in your argument. Why agree to a new TA early though? Especially when there were very few improvements? Why not wait a little longer, I'd rather stay t our current contract and fight for more meaningful improvements then bitch and moan for 3 years and say, "we'll get...
