Waiting for the call
After you input all the info into the airlineapps for CAL is there anything else you can do to distinguish yourself from all the others. I have 5 recommendations on file 2 are from CAL line pilots. Thanks.
Hey Zekes,
With your job, I assume you have the ability to get info on how much money this could make for Airways. As a contract carrier pilot who commutes on another contract carrier I don't see how this charge will make a major difference to the bottom line at the end of each quarter. Can...
Hey Cory'
The best website to find all the info you could ever want to know about any airline is "aviationinterviews.com" This site is comprised of interview experiences from people who most recently interviewed for a particular airline. Just before the interview experience is the breakdown of...
Are these questions from Skywest designed to weed out all the normal pilots and find the super pilots. I have been safely operating at a 121 airline and can't answer any of those mechanical questions posted above. Would there be less accidents if pilots knew the answers to these questions? What...
Why weren't they interested. I would think any airline that wanted to be represented by them, they would jump at the opportunity. Was Lakes to small or something? If they for some reason have explosive growth and aquire jets would ALPA then come to them and beg to represent them. I think ALPA is...
How many pilots does Commutair have? And has ALPA said no to other airlines looking for representation in the past? I ask this question with knowledge (or what I've been told) has happend before.
I hope they do represent you:)
There is a uniform shop in PIT. However, it's not in the terminal. The shop has everthing from shirts to flightcases, to Bancroft covers (hats). The shop is about 10 min drive from the terminal and if you call the owner Ray Kearns, he probably will pick you up. Or you could call him at (800)...
It is probably best to take the Otter job because it is multi. If its possible, try not to worry about the pay and focus on the flight time. Build total and multi. That is the key. Atleast it was for me :D
If this is Seagrave out of North Carolina, I heard (can not confirm) that the pilots are sometimes pressured to fly in adverse wx. If it is the same company I am thinking of they do have nice equipment such as the Beechjet. I do stress that I can not confirm this. I don't think they have had any...
We are struggling right now and have alot of issues that need to be worked out. I would go anywhere you can get hired and start a class. Hopefully when we do resume hiring, it will be a good place to work. Many of us are just hanging on right now.
I think he was trying to say that his friend took the risk of leaving his old flying job to work for US. Since then he got furloughed and doesn't expect to go back and bump somebody at the WO.
-I think :)
Just wanted to here the many opinions out there on the cog screen test that airlines give. I for one don't like it. I failed it at an interview and took it again and passed it. What shocked me was that the person (Dr.) that made the test has no aviation background.
They do that to protect themselves from having you leave them high and dry after they train you at there cost. This way it would be difficult to return to your previous airline, but not impossible.
I heard a rumor that one of the highjackers was cleared to sit in the jumpseat on one of the ill-fated jets. I have no way to verify this but with the tight scrutiny that we seem to be under concerning jumpseats, it looks like its a possibility. I'm currently flying for a 135 freight operation...
