hmmm...you may be right...but i gotta see an independent source to believe it. certainly wouldn't believe it if it came on SWA letterhead! LOL!
hey, I am on your side. Did you not notice that your fearless leader just began a campaign here: Management of Labor Expectations 101. Next step...
If i were SWA labor, before GK comes asking for a paycut...maybe you should ask him the total cost of the "bags fly free" campaign. Total cost meaning: advertising plus lost revenue. Side note: I would miss the ads because they are very entertaining to watch!
Delta, UAL, and etc are making...
Hey guys/gals..curious about the type of headsets you use on the 737. Are more guys using Sennheiser ANR or the Telex 850 ANR's? Time to replace my old headset, and get something to help mitigate the 737 noise.
I call B.S.!! you think GK is going to allow two different pay scales for the same work (AKA B scale))? go for it...that will be the end of the SWA LUV culture for good...
These are a bunch of junior SWA FOs who believed they were going to upgrade in 5-7 years and are pissed it is going to...
Dave,
Probably not the best idea to solicit hotel info from a public forum. With a little digging, I am sure you can figure out enough info for your purposes without compromising info that can be seen by "not so nice people" around the world. Example: Mumbai comes to mind!
You say: Any of the Technology fields pay high dollar to sharp folks and they don't have the antagonistic atmosphere of the airlines.
I say: Ever seen the movie "Office Space"? Plenty of places have that antagonistic atmosphere and bad management, not just the airlines.
Also, I would make...
As to the scarebus vs Boeing debate. We had a bad wind event in SIT a few years ago. The crew dinged both wingtips. The data study after the fact showed a wind event that was beyond the abilities of the scarebus, but the Boeing, being just an extention of the human at the controls, made it...
The AirTran guys are not this stupid, cometman! They would never trade seniority for a temporary pay increase. Pay is ALWAYS temporary, seniority is forever!
Relative SLI will be great for the Tranny guys/gals, without a whole lot of upside to junior SWA guys who were told of 6 year...
SWA has not had to "adjust" their pay rates like the legacy carriers have had to do. Without 9/11, SWA would still be at the lower end of the pay rate spectrum.
ummm really?....SWA has been around for a long time now...DL has competed and is competing with them in a number of markets already. (SLC, DTW, MSP, LAX, SEA, etc.......) they coexist very nicely servicing different niche markets.
i doubt that SWA will be pushing DL out of ATL anytime in the...
maybe...that is IF the company that owned the G5 is still around in this economy. what "asset" goes first in the corporate world when a tax writeoff is no longer needed? anyone?
UAL/CAL pilots: I hope the NEG CMTEE....as a LAST resort, accepts nothing less than SWA pay rationalized on an aircraft seat basis. IOW, SWA pay rates represent the smallest jet at UAL/CAL and therefore the lowest payrate. More seats, more revenue, more pay.
Another variable
Assumption: I can't imagine that the combined seniority list of both NWA/DAL will agree to anything less than SWA pay for its 737 next contract. Also assuming that pay will be rationalized above 737 rates for larger a/c in DAL's fleet.
Given: Imagine two pilots hired on...
Any contracts currently being negotiated?
For those pilot groups that are painfully negotiating labor agreements:
Does it say anywhere in your books that you HAVE to jump the security line? Are most pilots doing this to accommodate an "on time" departure for....THE COMPANY?
I would think...
IMO...assuming we are not facing another bankruptcy (knock on wood) i really don't see giving an inch on scope. when people are moving up in categories at a quick pace...watch out! scope will be less visible on the radar when folks are upgrading. now with the merger...you see 10+ yr FO's on...
I don't see that happening this time. The wide body mafia at Delta is no longer a majority. Most people flying at Delta know that INCREDIBLE PAY RATES can appear and DISAPPEAR overnight. RJ's don't follow the same trend...they appear but don't disappear. We would be very unwise to allow ANY...
I have thrown the towel in from an established career to make a career elsewhere.
I would love to have a list of all the professions out there that make over 125K a year, full benefits, retirement plan, minimum 15 days off, relatively stable job security, and no more than 4 years training...
The Bitter RJ Guys Forum
I think Flight Info should rename this forum to "The Bitter RJ Guys Forum"
Misery Loves Company! This place use to have some good airline info, gouge, and etc. Nowadays, just worthless input from the frustrated RJ crowd. What a shame!
