I'll 2nd that
Ditto Red....Check's in the mail to Steve. I was very impressed with the demo off the web-site, and his e-mail responses.....and the price seems excellent.
Looking forward to doing something productive for a change!

PHL: Here's the reality
I'm not sure if Mr. Fernandez and Mr. Belden have flown out of Philly that much, but terminal E does not exactly offer that much of an advantage to allow for an expedited taxi to Runway 27L. You still have to cross 27R, and sometimes this is via a 2 hour ground tour...
"It makes is tough to justify the cost of the type to only have a 3-4 month window of opportunity before the currency requirement would be disqualifying."
This may be one of the major underlying reasons why SWA dropped the type requirement to apply. Knowing there are most likely hundreds...
And just what exactly is a Moonie? All I can think of are those dudes who used to hand out propaganda in the terminal and ask you to buy their book.....wait, that might have been the Hari Krishna's.
Somebody call Robert Stack!
Oops, I crapped my pants.....
I have to admit, I'm stunned.....all I can think of are 2 hour delays, ground stops, and Bourbon Chicken and Fried Rice.
More to come later after I do some laundry.....
To answer your question, about 200 water-logged, wrinkled, pool rats. And we have the T-shirt (but it only reflects the years 2002 and 2003). Check out the SWA pool list at the top of the page....shows about 170, but some of our fellow rats don't know about this site, or don't want to be a...
Embraer types
OK, let's say all this comes to pass.....
Let's get down to basics. Where does eveyone sign up for Embraer 190 school for the type? And will SWA hopefuls still get 6 months to obtain one.....could be a little difficult.
Hmmm.....this looks like a good business opportunity.
So are they reducing planned -200 retirements in '04 from 17 to 12 now? That would be just awesome.....but it's the first I've heard of that though.
Could this be due to the opportunities opening up in STL next week?

(still in the pool and still in the dark.....must have floated to the...
I just saw this on usaviation.com, but I don't think it's true. But before I discount it completely, would some of you SWA insiders confirm/deny the guys comment?
Here it is (posted there this morning):
I'm thinking the guy's math might be off by 5, but hey, you never know.....
Still LUV that old T-shirt, but.....
PT,
I think it must be just a fashion statement. I just can't stand the thought of needing to put an '04 on my '02-'03 SWA Poolie shirt. Heck, the thing will most likely be worn out by this winter anyhow.....and guess what: the company's out of...
Chase,
Things brings up a pilot staffing/hiring question that we all would like to know. After listening to the conference call the other day, I noticed that there will be a net growth of 8 airplanes in the 3rd and 4th qtrs. As we know there hasn't been any hiring since mid-2nd qtr.
Assuming...
Should the Government just "Frank Abagnale" this guy? Just wondering what you guys think.

WASHINGTON -- House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats...
Looks like it's more than double.....
Straight from www.southwest.com, it looks like plans are more on the order of 10K pilots by 2012.
Training: On an average day, the flight operations training center will have 80 to 120 pilots in the classrooms and simulators, and instructors will log...
Did you say sniff?....Leave it to a dog
I can't say when classes will start, but in looking back at 2000, SWA had 21 new-hire classes. Gary Kelly mentioned 2000 in comparing new deliveries to 2004 (about the same number he said).
I would only assume there are more retirements of aviators...
