T-6s at Laughlin
Clemson,
This from a T-37 IP at Sheppard that I know:
All even numbered classes at Lauglin (eg, 04-04, 04-06, and 04-08) will be flying T-6s. All odd numbered classes will fly T-37s. I think the even numbered classes are the first class of the month (IE, my class at Laughlin...
F100 CENC makes the noise
She's likely hearing the nozzle on the F100 engine opening a bit and closing a bit as slight throttle changes are made on short final. The nozzle on the F100 is controlled by the CENC (Convergent Exhaust Nozzle Control) which is driven by bleed air from the compressor...
Brooks
Ryan,
I'll be going to Brooks Oct 31st. I haven't been to AMS yet. I think the standard procedure is Brooks and then AMS. I think it's because they want to know if you're medically qualified before they send you to AMS.

Flight hours on application
Flight hours do count on certain parts of the application.
For AF applicants, flight hours are used in conjuntion with AFOQT "pilot" section scores and the results of the BAT test to determine an applicant's PCSM score.

Dude,
No hard feelings. I'm not afraid of the competition (already have a UPT slot). It just seems like every other post on this message board and the one over at studentpilot.net is "I was furloughed from XYZ airline and I'm 29 1/2 and now I want to fly for the Guard to keep me flying...

You could then apply for an officer position (such as an AWACS or JSTARS operator as Toro noted) once you finish your degree. Or you could apply for a pilot position.
The benefits that the military offers are...
Hey guys,
I just got a call from Great Falls, MT (120th FW) to come interview for an F-16 slot.
Anyone have any good info on Great Falls the town, or the unit itself? I'd like to hear some opinions on what it's like there.
Thanks!
Flaco
I am going to interview (hopefully) with more than one Guard unit this summer. If I happen to get accepted on my first interview (could be early May), can I still interview at other units later on and accept if I get the slot? If so, how should I go about declining the other unit's slot? If I...
Hey guys,
Seems like this board is a lot better than studentpilot.net!
I'm an enlisted Guard dude who's about to send out a fistfull of packages to Guard units for this summers' UPT boards. Seems like there's a lot of Guard fighter pilot-types here, so what units do you guys think are SH...
