    Copa Airlines information

running those figures it is probably about 70,000, give or take. It kind of looks like a fun job, interesting routes etc... Thanks for the info.

    Copa Airlines information

Some times It would be nice not to commute all over the world, but like you pointed out the pay is way too low. Besides after living for 6 months in Panama it is not exactly cheap anymore.

    Copa Airlines information

seems like from what I gathered talking to a deadheading capt.....it was about 70,000 USD.

    FDX Jumpseat w/ luggage question.

I also have no experience jumpseating....but have seen a notice in their operations area that said jumpseaters can bring only as much baggage as they can carry up the stairs in 1 trip. I dont think anyone would have a problem with a wedding dress ....as long as you didnt show up wearing it.

    Relocation to San Antonio,TX

The stoneoak area is growing rapidly....very nice area, clean safe etc... Lots of new restaurants and night clubs opening.

    World Airways

Last year our CEO took a bigger bonus than probably anyone else in the airline business worldwide. They dont seem very interested in running an airline, or investing in anything other than themselves. We are getting more 744s but losing 2 md-11s at end of this year as leasor wants to make them...

    Emirates Interview

Just curious if anyone has been to a roadshow in the past. Is there any registration required, or do you just show up? Also how long do they last?

    Copa Airlines information

Just wondering if anyone on this board has any information on Copa from Panama. They look like they pay about a third of what I am currently making but being married to a Panamanian it may be convenient?

    World and Emirates

Im sure Emirates is playing one against another to get best rates....

Do any U.S. carriers layover in Accra, Ghana?

we were there recently....had a lot of beers tonight but I seem to recall a le meridien??? What ever it was it was probably one of the nicer hotels I have stayed at in Africa.

    heavy/double crew logging?

That third (or fourth) crewmember is required for the ac to leave the gate if it is more than 8 or more than 12 hours.....I just dont see it as a 2/3 required crewmember.

    Atlas/Southern/Kalitta > Fedex?

I dont think anyone can really argue that Fedex isn't one of the best and far exceeds World, Atlas etc.... However many people move on with their life, get married and have kids. I for one cant afford to give up a job making 200,000 a year, foreclose on my house and start flying as an engineer...

    heavy/double crew logging?

If their is only 1 captain on board and he logs 8 hours and then is in the bunk for 3 hours, he either logs it all or the ship is without a captain for 3 hours?? There is 1 person designated as PIC and that doesn't change until you land and get a new release
  14. B

    heavy/double crew logging?

8 hours? If you have 1 capt, 1 FO, and IRO doing an 11 hour flight, who will log the 3 hour hours of PIC..... I thought under part 121 you have to be designated as PIC....his/her name on the release so I would think that person is Captain the whole flight. I have seen cases where the 2 first...

    Atlas/Southern/Kalitta > Fedex?

World has went down hill the last few years. That is for sure! It is still a fun job and a descent career.I have probably averaged $210,000 per year for the last 6 years. Sure I would rather be a captain at Fedex but starting over is not always an easy or good option. Spread sheets over a 20...

    AA First Year Pay

For what its worth I was scheduled to go to class prior to 9-11...I believe they were at least paying for the room. Even Eagle covered that. It is embarrassing that one has to seriously consider moving out of their own country because the pay sucks so bad to start with a major airline here...

    Overseas Credit Cards

Usaa is seems to be good. I also have a citi MasterCard. Usually not too many troubles.

    Help-War Zone contract provisions

I believe we have a 1 million dollar insurance policy and also get $400 per trip into war zones.

    Ryan International

Unless their pay scale has changed a bunch I don't foresee a max exodus from any large carrier like Emirates. Then again money is not everything.

    UPS high speen departure

Max takeoff in the Md11 has a min clean speed of about 280. While I agree with the class c comment in Germany many of the sids specifically say max 250 below 10. Often this can be waved but lately some of the controllers do not accept operational needs such as min maneuvering speed, but rather...
