So, latest rumor is that the JNC was offered current SKYW contract terms, i.e. pay and work rules, in exchange for one pilot list. And the MEC shot it down. That really pisses me off. -

Because I'm sure that the Neg Comm and/or the MEC's have probably been given a promise of a sweet position in the Crystal Palace with a 6 figure bonus. Need I remind you of the Neg Comm for the '98 Contract. Umm yeah, System Chief and a Base Chief(later asst Chief) if I recall correctly. -

Everybody must keep in mind that Management is going for the lowest cost contract that will pass 50%+1 vote. If they improved QOL issues (zero cost), offered the ASA side $1/hr more and then slashed the XJT B-Fund, who knows??? I do know that I cared less about Retirement when I was in my... -

You really aren't understanding the issue. UAL and DAL, and AMR do care if we have a staffing issue. We fill their planes. There is no possibility that we get replaced by someone else. Why you ask? Because the pilot shortage has arrived at the regional level. There are no pilots with ATP's... -

Unfortunately, I believe you are correct on this. Look at what happened with the hanger mechanics meltdown a few years ago. Even today, an ASA mech cannot get hired at TOC. And in the last few years, we have alligned ourselves with the 3 biggest carriers in the US. Fact is, no carrier can go... -

My understanding is that the MRJ's are fleet replacements for our older 700's. You have to realize that by the time these things show up, the oldest CRJ-700 will be 15 years old. Not growth aircraft. Expect them to be Delta paint. -

I know for a FACT that Delta has a list of every no-show to an ASA interview or class. I have talked to the then intern turned FO that created it. Draw your own conclusions with what they do with it. Also of note, this was post sale to Skywest. -

Earnings call
Not pilot related, but company related. Just talked to inflight recruiter and they cant find flight attendants either. In fact, last class had 24 quit before graduating. Thats awesome! Wake Up Mr Holt! The depth of the crap has far exceeded the tops of your boots! -

Ummm not exactly. Remember after the Colgan accident and we all saw lots of FAA jumpseat audits? Part of those jumpseat rides was pub checks. It was found that Skywest pilots were almost an order of magnitude more out of date on their Jepp updates than the rest of the industry. Ya see, ASA... -
