My worst day at TWA (under Icahn, even) was still better than my best day at ARW (and that was when ARW was at the top of the heap for regionals).
Go get a number and wait for the retirements to kick in. You're going to be junior regardless AND you're going to be at risk for furlough...
Simple. Don't sign it if you don't want the job. Sign it and bail and see how you are received by other operators.
Legal, illegal, ethical, unethical--it's part 91. That's the deal.

'Poster child for a highly dysfunctional flight department at a company that SHOULD be top notch'. This from someone who has experience with them.
Unfortunate.

The rates in the AA contract are higher than the USAir Pre-greement.
S80 CA is up $6/hr. Those on the 762/3 and 737 are grandfathered to current rates until parity. (The 767 fleet is now the same as 757 rates and the 737 is lumped in with the 80 and A320/321/319 fleet.)
For AA to have as...
I had someone last month asking about availability of a GIV.
They had a business plan but no guarantee it would pay off and they had money but not enough. Oh, and only one person with a GIV type...
Soooo, um, yeah. Can't help you. ;)

Ignore it, get caught and the Feds (with the help and full cooperation of the company) prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law.
Why? Because you demonsrtated a disregard for the FAR's and the safety of your passengers. The Fed needs a promotion and the company needs a hostage. They...
It doesn't matter. We've gone around the NMB (Tosi can keep having dinner with AMR management all he wants...).
AMR's system is SO flawed, unless it is being pushed, driven like cattle, it will break down on it's own.
So, they can kick the can down the road, outsource our flying--whatever...
I hand flew the 717/MD80 and 757 a lot before I got laid off. I flew the G550 by hand more than others in my department.
I don't hand fly the 757 much now because I just don't care to. When/if I get back on the 80 again, I'll start hand flying more. I agree there is a lot of trepidation...
As AA found out when they dumped many of those nasty TWA airplanes (some of those now going to Delta), an airframe is an airframe and that equates to approximately 6-7 crews.
Airplanes are jobs.
TC
P.S.--Heard a SWA FA talking about getting rid of those airplanes because they weren't cost...
Apparently someone pushed back their timetable for entering rehab...
TC
ETA: Just checked with someone "connected". He confirmed this. Language is being hashed out now. Go figure.
Yeah. Pilots are really skilled at sneaking amongst the plane cleaners and FA's and tinkering with 4 or 5 sets of brackets so the seats come loose.
Just shows how desperate AMR is and how utterly stupid the media is.
Keep on keepin' on...
TC
When people are looking at losing out on a $50 million check NOT being deposited in their bank account, they get cranky.
This is very early in the game.
AMR mangement doesn't care if people's lives are ruined, careers are ruined or if a few die, they want their money.
At the, ahem, "urging"...
