    JL can unload and say whatever he really wants to at this point and not have to worry about being 'politically correct'. He is gone (retiring) in Jan '07. I also think JL is just a messenger behind these letters with PC playing puppetmaster now that BC is gone, but thats just my .02!

    The retro pay/signing bonus is a joke. I know pay was not a cornerstone issue but come on! What happen to "Make Them Pay For The Delay" motto YGTBSM! Simple math for my seat shows my signing bonus equates to 1 yr 8 months of backpay instead of the 2 yrs 4 months. THATS AN ADDITIONAL 8 MONTHS...

    If ratified this fall, the new contract terms would run through the fall of 2010. FedEx spokesman Maury Lane said the contract wouldn't be retroactive to May 2004, when the current agreement became amendable. Hold the phone...say what? I find this VERY hard to believe, and this is the WSJ...

    I forgot something... There is a longevity bonus calculated somehow that I am unaware of for the length of the contract. If the contract was 3 yrs long it was 'X', if we signed a 4 yr deal it was 'X' and if we signed a 5 yr contract it was 'X'...I don't how 'X' is calculated. Anyone???

    Yes, training pay sucks but first year pay (@45k) isn't really that bad compared to A LOT of other places. It accelerates pretty quickly so suck it for 1 year...you can always put momma back to work:blush:

    There wasn't this morning in OAK when I was jumpseating home in full uniform. TSA told me to check my bags if I wanted to keep any of my stuff; mouthwash, hair gel, deodorent, etc. How is that even an option for flight crew???
