56.5% Management will be pissed off that they threw too much money at it. All they needed was 51%.

Time to get over it now and move on.

CHICAGO, Aug 31 (Reuters) - United Parcel Service Inc.'s (UPS.N: Quote, Profile, Research) pilots' union said on Thursday its members ratified a new labor contract that took nearly four years to negotiate and provides wage and pension improvements.
The Independent Pilots Association, which represents the 2,700 pilots at the world's largest package delivery company, said 56.5 percent of its members voted for the new agreement.
The new contract will be valid until 2011.
Of the 2,652 IPA members eligible to vote, 1,482 voted to approve the agreement, while 1,141 voted against it.

Union President Tom Nicholson said the contract increased pilot compensation, retirement and benefits, while providing job protection for pilots flying international cargo.
"This is not a small thing," Nicholson said. "Our pilots are now secure in flying that stuff internationally."

thought you guys were going to burn the place down?

A UPS year 2 FO flying an MD-11 will make over 25k less than a FedEx year 2 FO flying an MD-11!!

if u noticed there is differential pay at fdx which the avg pay is . (MD11/117)+(727/96)=213 divided by 2=106
and ours is 96&81=7776 and that's only 68 $ less per yr. Just the fact per airline pilot central update.
ups 96&81=7776
fdx 106&74=7844
