For the 2005 contract, it was $10,000 per 12-month period from 10/1/2001. 60% paid within 30 days of ratification, and the remaining 40% will accrue interest, and be paid in the first pay period in 2006.

We already know what the offer was...it was a small reduction in overall compensation. Apparently that's they best they can do.

They are negotiating, and getting nowhere. Without the pilot group providing the leverage they need, realityman is exactly right. Until the company has a reason to end negotiations, they won't. They'll keep right on with the same stagnant, 8-year-old contract, because the Railway Labor Act is heavily stacked in favor of the company.

We have very, very few legal avenues to motivate the company. You paying dues is not nearly enough to get it done. That signing bonus came in 2005 because the company wanted the contract settled, and thus had to sweeten the pot to get it to pass. It wasn't a gift; it was a bribe to shut us up.

Want another bribe? You're going to have to earn it. Just paying dues isn't nearly enough, and you know it.
