Warren Buffett's peaceful summer stand-off with NetJets pilots is about to end, The Post has learned.

The union representing 2,700 professionals at the fractional private-jet operators is expected to set up pickets lines at seven airports, including New Jersey's Teterboro, on Sept. 10 to protest the lack of progress at hammering out a new contract, a source close to the situation said on Monday.

this situation is becoming laughable. It's obvious that WB will never offer a fair deal to his pilots because he knows there is no REAL threat of an actual strike happening. Anybody that believes otherwise is a moron.

Sounds kinda FUDish, Captain eight posts.

So for a considerable length of time, the company wouldn't even talk to the union. New regime comes in and sets a goal of 90 days. After 90 days, there are some issues not yet agreed on. At least it's been discussed. Company says we'll keep working towards an agreement. Unless I'm missing something, how is that a lack of progress? Starting at square one 90 days ago, I imagine there was a lot of work to do.

I don't think there is anyone that doesn't want a fair deal done for both sides. Those of us on the other end of your phones can't wait until there's a TA.

It's lack of progress because every issue that has any cost associated with it, is going sideways. The EMT at NJ doesn't have the power to do anything, as long as the three BRK goons who make up the majority of the board have control.

Today the Teamsters asked their membership to support the pickets on September 10th. Wear your uniform, and leave your IDs at home, we need the support of the entire industry if we are going to advance our profession.

With the pilot shortage, the marketplace will force our compensation to dramatically increase. The alternative is lots of uncrewed planes. This is good news for our negotiators.

There is a pilot shortage at the regional level. Not at the major level.

Netjets will probably not have a pilot shortage problem. We are better than a crappy 135 and a regional. Enough of a place for someone to come hang their hat and get a type while they wait for a call from the majors. Or if they don't like commuting that means they will just stay.

I'd rather take control of my destiny versus wait for the elusive pilot shortage.

Exactly. Worse than a major, better than a regional. I'm not going to wait for the Kit Darby promised "pilot shortage" to affect us...it won't. Time to say its been long enough.

At least they're talking. Different ends of the spectrum but at least with talking, both sides know where they stand...and they're still talking.
