Accelerating 737 from Airtran to SWA

Looking for any truth to a rumor that has all the 737s over to SWA, from the Airtran side, by November. Anyone else hearing this?

Always has been... All part of the side letter between swapa and gk. No later than September. Upgrade as many as possible for perpetual reserve and no Captain slots for years to come due to the dilution of the lines and flattish growth to chase the coveted 15% ROIC. Maybe gk has a secret up his skirt and there will be monstrous growth but they can't even get the pilots to get the IPads in the time frame allotted. It will be interesting to see what happens.

How is this complaining? He asked a question about the glacial pace of the transition to see if any extra effort was going to be made to at the final hour. I haven't heard anything. Maybe after a month or two of going down to MBJ the company will speed things up.

You can't seriously be surprised that out of 6,000 pilots not everyone has bought the iPad and and registered the software. 2 week obligatory extension for the slackers and then it's removal from flight status. Just like when every airline went to DL for recurrent.

Latest from crew planning is 6 737 to be shut down nov 30. That should leave 25 cap and 25 fo going thru school in dec 2014. But that the plan today. Always subject to change.

The only planes at AirTran on Dec. 28 will be 717s. I didn't hear that from anyone I just looked at the SWA fleet and did some critical thinking.

The last ""etched-in-jello" plan was that the 737's would be here until 12/28 (about 6 of them). Now that, according to maintenance, has been moved up to 11/30. Just wondering for those dudes who were hoping for the 1 to 4 months off with pay

Sorry if you don't like the facts. Side letter was signed. Delivery schedule does not support the upgrades. Global seniority list is skewed and will guarantee a long time on reserve for the 74 to 75,000 seniority number captains. Just stating some of the obvious facts. Uh, not to ruin a perfectly good rant or anything, but you do reaize the lines are built in Dallas now, not Orlando..... your wrath may be a little misplaced. .

I don't like the offerings this month, either, but it's not surprising ... one of the unfortunate realities of a shrinking fleet.
