Plenty of great dispatchers, but there is one guy, when I see his name I have to double check everything. Last time, he filed us at 6000 for our flight. It was just a short flight, but not THAT short, and this was well below all the min altitudes for departure. I called and he said it should be 20, but the computer wouldn't let him change it. "Well, at least you know you have plenty of fuel."

Wouldn't that happen to be due to the management trail which leads directly to SGU? It amazes me the number of pilots at SkyWest that actually think it's the pilots at ExpressJet that are the issue. In all of my years at ASA/ExpressJet, I can't think of a single SSP that I negotiated.......

I don't doubt you, but how does a dispatcher threaten a Captain? I would be laughing at a dispatcher trying to lean on a pilot. I get it if it was someone well known and high up on the flight ops side as far as laying pressure on a pilot, but a dispatcher? I hope no one caved.

Why would you even think to raise that question GL? I've refused my share of planes, uploaded more fuel as I saw fit and have never once had my actions questioned by anyone. Why would you try to answer a question asked of someone else at another airline? It's time to act like a man approaching 50 years old. It's liberating not act like a 23 year old anymore.
