http://www.nasdaq.com/press-release...rofit-41st-consecutive-year-of-20140123-00329

"We are on track with our AirTran integration, achieving approximately $400 million in annual net pre-tax synergies in 2013, as planned. Since 2011, we have converted 17 of the 52 AirTran Boeing 737-700s to Southwest, and we have replaced the flying for 13 AirTran Boeing 717-200s transitioned to Delta in 2013, with Southwest 737 service. Nine more 717s were removed from active service at year end 2013, and the remaining 66 717s are scheduled to be removed from the AirTran network by the end of this year, and transitioned to Delta through 2015. The remaining 35 AirTran Boeing 737-700s are scheduled to be converted to Southwest this year. During fourth quarter, we converted Memphis, Pensacola, San Juan, and Buffalo to Southwest, and launched Southwest service to Richmond. At year end 2013, all remaining domestic AirTran markets had Southwest service. We are pleased with the rapid improvement of our developing markets as we convert AirTran routes into Southwest and optimize our combined networks. With our international reservation system scheduled for implementation later this month, we remain on track to convert AirTran's seven international markets, along with its remaining domestic markets, by the end of this year. As planned, this will allow us to complete the AirTran integration and retire the brand by the end of 2014."

Just wanted clear up a rumor I heard that goes something like:

SWAPA created a pay rate for the 717, SWA isn't parking the 717, you can stay on the 717 to infinity and beyond. SWAPA will do it because they are weak and are due for concessions, blah blah blah

This should also put cold water on the: SWA is a failing company, all the profits come from AirTran, bankrupt in five years, SWA can't do anything (international, bag fees, etc.) right, oh yeah and our 1700 pilots on the warpath will destroy the culture.

I flew last week and after the captain went gloom and doom for two hours I started to think I was doomed. I woke this morning to this reality. We may be doomed, but not yet.

"and we have replaced the flying for 13 AirTran Boeing 717-200s transitioned to Delta in 2013, with Southwest 737 service."............

reading between the lines..... at the expense of other SWA station service that have been cut back to marginal service at best. We will continue to alienate our customers with poor service with our mini hub and spoke and after they misconnect in BWI/MDW/BNA/ etc etc... we will make them wait four to six hours to standby for the next flight.

Did the press release say anything about adding NS flights out of ATL to somewhere one would actually want to go outside of the SE?

I've been on more Delta and Psuedo Delta flights in 2013 because you can't get anywhere w/o a #*&%$#@ layover on SWA. I couldn't even get into Love Field w/o layover so I took a Psuedo Delta flight. How is ATL to LAX not a NS flight?

The funny part is SWA is the same price as DAL economy out of ATL on many flights.

I miss you Trannies, I really do. You had a helluva product and Business class. :(

I remember when the Corndogs were predicting that "the South would burn again" when they "invaded" from the North and West due to the Merger. Instead, they have shrunk, and they are bumping most AT pilots out of their previous home base. Well, looks like General Lee finally drove over Northern Aggressors! Yeah!!! ;) (the car)

Bye Bye---General Lee

Really?

You're that "General Lee" the one who led southerners into war killing hundreds of thousands of fellow Americans to protect slavery?

Thought it was about the car, not redneck pride

And diesel- the wright amendment allows anyone to fly nonstop ATL-DAL??
Pretty sure it's "not yet" or is the wright amendment just a SWA limit?

13% ROIC. Too bad we didn't hit the 15% trigger. I'm guessing that's when the balloons and confetti fall from the ceiling and we all start singing happy days are here again. Because you can't do anything at 13% compared to 15%. Thank god it wasn't 14.5. I wouldn't be surprised if the real ROIC is above 15%.

No, I'm talking about the "Dukes of Hazard" car. But you guys did do a lot of boasting, all leading to squat so far. I once saw two of your 737s land consecutively on 26R, and was amazed.

Capacity is up slight less than 2% because of the -800. Flight segments are down a bit.
Swa ended the year with 14 fewer aircraft than it started with (694-680) Hope you can start growing by adding airframes in the near future.

You never will. He picked that number because he knew it would never happen. Gives him an excuse for not growing, because he doesn't know how.

I assume you will be not be working for SWA or Airtran 11 months from now? Is that correct? I bet you transition over to the SWA side by the end of 2014. You might be the last one but you will transition because you are all talk. Prove everybody wrong.

No you didn't idiot

And we don't boast- we're living a good life -
Sorry it offends you that someone besides a delta wide body pilot is happy

Right...

No, there's just a lot on the plate at the moment

Incrementally getting closer to 15% is a way to placate us until we get to it- and we will- in 2015- when planned growth starts

I talked to Gary PCL- the real target is your resignation date. We will grow when pcl leaves. Heard it here first

What the hell are you talking about here Jenny? I've been on this forum for awhile, and never once did I see a post like that.

You must be having SW wet dreams again. Instead of throwing poo and see what sticks, why don't you speak factually.

MAF crew base!!!! Yippie!!

Thanks for the compliment. I agree, we had a great product...one that's on a rocket ship to the basement of the industry under new management. I never thought it was possible to place below ASA in on-time. (No offense to my Acey friends.)

You are a MORON. It had nothing to do with slavery.
