To those interested in Spirit, now that pretty much everyone is hiring why is Spirit your first choice? Or is it?

I would doubt many wake up in the morning and say "I'm now qualified to be airline pilot and I only want to work for Spirit airlines." There are better and worse places to be, there is bigger equipment and smaller, better contracts or no contract.

Apply to the places that interest you, network and see where you end up. Not all of us are actually lucky enough to wear the double breasted suit, if that's your desire, and that's okay. We all have the same license, just not the same contacts and you would waste a lifetime worrying about just one goal. At some point you just have to accept you are on the path you should be on. Such is life.

Me, at my predetermined point, I'm going to enjoy the ride wherever I end up because life is way too short.

I hope you have a better answer than that for the interview.

It's not a bad answer. Worded a little crudely, perhaps, but not a bad answer.

I interpret that to mean "I'll end up where I'm supposed to end up" or in other words "I'll apply everywhere and see what happens." It's fine for the forums, but is pretty lame for an actual interview. If you can't 'put on the act' and give them a few company specific reasons, you'll likely be unsuccessful. I mean all this sincerely.

And don't mention 'not be cut out for the double breasted blazer' or whatnot. It really sounds like 'yeah, this is my second choice to work at.'

Didn't realize he was on an interview right now . . .

We'll that would depend where the interview was. I always thought those that interview wanted to hear the truth?

Considering this thread is about Spirit...how about the interview is at Spirit! And as far as truth, if you tell the panel that your dream job is Delta (cause that's a typical question at an NK interview) you likely will not be selected. Just some free advice. I'd consider paying for some real prep though.

Are you serious? I WAS BEING SARCASTIC. The thread was started by someone looking to sell a fricking job fair ticket?!?!? It is not a "please help me develop an interview answer because I'm to cheap, dumb and don't have an original thought in my head to come up with an answer for an interview" thread.

As indicated by another poster, we weren't aware I was interviewing.

Next time preface your question with "what do you guys think would be a good answer for this interview question" as there are other threads out there asking things like, "Whom would you rather work for? Spirit or AA" ... I was thinking your questioning was along those lines.

It's too bad you work at Spirit... you seem to be a bit of a p***k.
