Sounds like it's about done, apparently the compensation items are TA'd. But will it pass......

It was an update from the MEC I guess, at least on the ASA side, stating that definitions and some other trivial section were all that was left. I think.

Well I sure hope whatever it is, you guys can stop the latest trend and either ratify in a good contract or vote down a BS contract.

My carrier is in negotiations now too... I'm not liking the current trend. I hope none of the rest of us follow suit!

Tdys, something the pilot group voted yes for in the last contract and complain about now. I hope that's a lesson learned. READ! Then vote. I voted no last time and will this time if it's not perfect, which I'm sure it won't be.

Temporary position notice for November, the guys that took it are pretty senior. Everyone moved down 6 spots.... It will effect whose off for thanksgiving, weekends etc...Question is , did anyone see a position notice or email for volunteers previous to this?

Ummm, yeah, it came out on Oct 2 from the manager of manpower planning. I'm guessing your one of the guys that when you log on to duty in there are 348 unread emails in your inbox?

Now for your issues with senior pilots. The only thing I can tell you is sorry, but your going to have to learn to deal with it. It will get better for you, if we can continue to bring on new hires. That moves you off the bottom. And for some good news to you, it looks like you moved up a number at the end of this month, but you would have to read your email to know why.

Sorry sport but I was not the only guy that didn't get that e-mail I talked to several guys in IAD yesterday and they didn't get it either..... No I don't have 300 emails. I'm also based in ATL....And I'm sure as hell not on the bottom....

us Iad pilots did not receive the email that we are about to get screwed over again by the company's inability to staff Dulles. Oh we'll time to fly by the book and hopefully we don't get cancelled and were not so late so pax dont miss their connections.

That'll show 'em

Why not just TDY some reserves instead of screwing with bidding positions in a holiday month..

So, its ok with you to screw reserves from another base and send them on a 30 day trip. Sorry. That does not honor seniority. I'm sorry you did not get the notice. I reviewed it and it went to people that can do the assignment. No CR7 pilots or IAD pilots got it because they can't do anything about it.

What happened was the fairest thing to do in regards to honoring the seniority system. They have addresses the shortage in IAD with all the pilots coming in Jan. Obviously, United asked us to do some more flying at a time when Delta is asking for less. Another means that could have happened is to just build trips out the other domiciles to cover the IAD flying. I have seen trips that do this in open time. I have never heard the real reason why we don't switch customers on overnights, i.e. Dal day 1, 4, and UAL in the middle. I know we have had delays carry over, but I credit that to the morons who build pairings with scheduled reduced rest. Fix that and it is easy to cover the flying. Skywest has been doing for years on the West Coast markets.

Are you saying you don't normally fly by the book?

Fly by the book=airplane would never move. Especially at IAD. I picked up a trip there last year. What an absolute dump of an operation. It's no wonder the XJT pilots are jumping ship. Delcon side has no idea...

The point was the company didnt notify the pilots in IAD about either bid, a couple days before the PBS bid opens...
We have been TDYing pilots to IAD and DTW for 6 days at a time forever ...

You are notified every month when the assignment list comes out before the bid...and also given your bidding number in Flica

"Skywest has been doing for years on the West Coast markets"

That got nixed awhile ago, at least with UA and DAL flying, for the reason you cited.

Oh god, here we go.

I'm just saying... do whatever you're going to do, but I personally laugh whenever I hear that statement. You still won't be flying "by the book" if that's what you mean. "Well, if you're going to do that to me, I guess I'll just stop knowingly violating FARs for the benefit of my airline and do my job right from now on to make a point!" To stop using judgement that you normally see appropriate in your job and turning yourself into a yes/no robot...as you said, the plane wouldn't go anywhere. I know, I know...

Doing your job "by the book" to make a point... there's a concept. Be sure to hold your customers hostage over a bid award... I love how we solve our problems in this business. Do we learn this s*** from our government?

What he means is doing ONLY our jobs. That means ONE call for catering, fuel, Lav, etc. that also means not releasing the brake until we get all the services we need.....not saying "oh well, I guess the Lav can make it one more round trip". It means taking our time when scheduled a 26 minute AC swap to another terminal.....it means LOTS of things.

The last time we were in negotiations we flew "by the book", and we had a contract in 3 weeks.

It's a little different this time however and I fully expect to see a real turd sandwich foisted on us........if they expect ANYBODY on property to take a concession LASA OR LXJT it's a no vote from me

Wow I recall SH (that turd still here) stating in recurrent years ago that we "shouldn't have to call for servicing" nor "should we have to fight for our pay".

Oh and yeah, it aint how we got here, blah blah blah....TFATYD!
