Are there reserve lines with longer blocks? I will be commuting and would rather do 5-6 days in a row than two groups of 3.

Four day blocks are there as well. The only time you would get a longer period (up to 6) would be on a month to month overlap.

What base has the most productive trips at Southwest? Theoretically they would be the easiest to give away, ie highest block?

I would say start with the base that has the most pilots and work backwards from there. The lines for ATL for the first month are nothing to get excited about. Typical for a start up domicile.

HOU may be geographically better suited for your commute and folks who want to pick up time.

Can you hold MCO or is it not worth?

I've found it's easier to give away a lower paying trip with low block (DHs etc.) than higher paying trips with high block.

Also, turns and 2 days are much easier to give away than 3-4 days.

A lot of guys want to keep the block down to stay legal for open time.

So far, this has been a nice informative thread...I'd like for it to stay that way. With that said R.B., please refrain from "stirring the pot". I'm here to learn how it's done on the SWA side...no need to rehash all that old AAI BS here.
Thanks for your cooperation.
Good point. I am sure there will be more appropriate threads to talk SLI on (especially considering we are expecting arbitrator Jaffe to rule any day on the first DRC).

For example on my last day of my reserve block I deadheaded one leg back to base arrived about 1300. They could still call me until 2000 to do a turn or possibly JA into an overnight.
If you are a Reserve Line holder you can't be JA'ed. So on your last day of the reserve block you will not be JA'ed into an overnight.

No need to wait. . . . Here's a more appropriate venue for you to go to, where express your opinions right now. . . .

Just like looking in a freakin' mirror, isn't it?
