You sound like you sit up late at night trying to convince yourself you work for some elite Co. They're just airlines. And they're just there to make money.
Channel all that angst toward getting a union. You guys'll need it!

I am not worked up at all. I am treated well (except for scheduling) and I very much enjoy my job. I like passengers telling me that was the best plane ride they have ever been on, and I like seeing the airline I work for top the ratings every time they are included in a survey. If we can start making money, I have no doubt more will come my way. If we don't, I guess I will be on the street. Only time will tell, but I am optomistic after the news and rumors from the last couple months. Oh, and I like not wearing a tie and still look/act professional ;).

You must be a Mesaba puke.

You must be from Pinnacle. Nothing but negativity and name calling. I can hardly blame you though. That was the worst company I have ever worked for. It was about the worst 9 months of my life even though I made the best money of my life. Horrible.

But the seat at the gate isn't as comfortable as the second jumpseat when someone is trying to get to work. And the seat at VX is much more comfortable with a nice dinner sitting in front of you. I also find it much more comfortable facing the passengers when they actually enjoy their trip. It is also nice to have a product I am proud of. I also find it nice to not have to work the MEL. I think I have had less than 5 MEL's on all the aircraft I have flown combined since I got here. I would however find it more comfortable to have VX making money.

Are you kidding me? I would rather work for Spirit at the bottom of Customer service and top of profitability, then VA at the top of customer surveys and the absolute bottom at making money.

Im proud to fly for Spirit :), and I enjoy peanut M&Ms and Combos

Again, you aren't looking down the road. That's fine though. To each his own. Pan Am was the place to be. I don't trust the Spirit business model. From what I hear, new cities for Spirit go crazy right away and then peter out. Vx is the opposite. Honestly, I didn't fully trust VX's model right away either, but as I said before, there is a lot of momentum right now.

What momentum, pray tell? Dumping more $$$ losing capacity on already intrenched cross country routes?

Very good press lately, full airplanes, 2 of the best quarters the company has had in their respective quarter, another one on the way, possible net profit 2q (as per cfo), lowering of interest rates we pay, fuel prices low, new routes doing well off the bat, ticket prices way up...momentum.

 Heheh! You seem very concerned with Spirit. Why? What's the story behind it?
Dont worry about us too much.....we're just fine. I love it here! Your assessments of Spirit are way off. You had me really scratching my head with your descriptions of Spirit.
My very good friend is a VX pilot and had occasion to travel on a Spirit flight the other day. Her quote...."I was expecting something different. It's the same thing as everywhere else."
She tells me you guys get a lotta 'pump-up' propaganda at your "meetings" about your product being oh-so-ultra-superior.
When you wonder why pilots for other airlines aren't shedding a tear over your financial demise......that's why! Try to be a little more humble! Again....it's just an airline!!

And, thanks for your concern over our business model. As you know, we have a few of your former guys in our Flight Ops. Business model for them is pretty much "to do things so as to not end up like VX. Saw the writing on that wall a few years back."

Aviatrix,

Ignorance is bliss. Unfortunately, it like likes to talk (to much) and we have a lot of it. What kills me is they want to argue how flawed the product at Spirit is when the numbers clearly say otherwise.

I guess our cut backs and delays in orders, quality, or should I say lack of, current company functions and standing in the yearly welfare line for another handout is considered "momentum". What would you expect from an individual who says the best money he has ever made was from a regional airline? A complete lack of experience is why we are having a hard time achieving success in our rules and pay.

Can't lead a horse to water but I trust we will get there eventually. It might take some time though because of the revolving door VX is becoming.

Carry on and thanks for the rides. You guys at Spirit are professional (and might I add dressed like one) and a class act.
