40 Interviews were done yesterday. Of the 40 the lowest time guy had 8500 hours. Highest time guy had 19,000 hours. Every person that interviewed had turbine PIC time. Not sure if it was over 1000 hours of PIC turbine or not. Quite a few ex. Comair guys in the interview room. Good luck to all.

I know this goes against the JB bashers theories that say we are just hiring low time guys with SJS, but these were the numbers yesterday. So to all of you JB captains it looks like you will have some pretty good experience in your right seat for a while longer to come.

For those of you wondering what is competitive. Well here it is, as of yesterday.

Good to hear there are still lots of interviews going on.

But to play the part of the 'angry guy on FI' there are lots of recently laid off ex-Comair guys on the street who are pissed at ALPA and looking for a job. Seems like USAir Part II in terms of demographics JB loves to hire.

(Disclaimer: Not all Comair guys hate ALPA, but just an observation of a large % I meet)

COO in his conference call a week ago said 75 for the year and maybe 40 maybe for 117. Rob is a joke too? Classes are scheduled in the sense they are on the schedule and that means nothing in terms of actual hiring.

Do you always fly to the Alternate because it is planned on the release?

That's not what the transcript says. He said 150-250 pilots for the year with 87 hired by July and another 40 needed for 117. He also said there are no aircraft being returned this year and all 14 new deliveries are growth aircraft.

He qualified the additional pilots and that translates to only if we have attrition.

Count on it. He said 400 a few years ago too and the attrition did not happen as planned.

Well the person that I got my info from who does interviews is far from a BOB. He is on the far opposite end of the spectrum as a matter of fact. I am also sure you know quite well that union representation or feelings regarding unions are not involved in any interview or interview situation.

I absolutely believe that. Reason is I was interviewed during the middle of the last union drive. Was hired and finished class right as the last union vote was ending. I am (at least what it seems like on FI and BP) the most stable pro union yes vote there is. I was a perfect candidate for the company to sway the hiring process via union feelings. I was NEVER ever asked about anything regarding unions. It was never even hinted at as a matter of fact. So yes I believe that.
