Why only 7 days?

Because for the last 5 years or so they have had enough applicants after 48 hours to fill every interview and pool spot they have. From what I have heard (rumor of course) there computer system typically shuts down accepting applications internally after 3-4 days do to the amount of applications they get. I have a feeling things will change once all the legacy airlines are hiring in full swing. For now you officially get 7 days.

But, how can that be since the job is so terrible?

Do we have to re-apply if we applied during last window? Why do they recieve so many applications, i would think most regional guys, mainly FO's, would stick around to get that upgrade at their current company since Jetblue upgrades are non-existant. That 1,000 hours of turbine PIC is a good thing to have, i just hit that mark at my charter gig and i am looking to get out (cr@ppy schedule). I don't mind hanging out in right seat for awile now that i have that time in my back pocket.

A large chunk of our applications come from regional airlines, which are 10x worse conditions than the rest of the industry.

I would re-update your application during the window just to show you are still interested.

Are they hiring into the A320 and the E190? How is class seniority determined?

Seniority in the class goes by age. Old geezer is number 1. Young pup is at the bottom.

Pretty sure the aircraft you get is determined after you get to training.

Because it creates a false sense of exclusivity.

Um, OK. Says you, who never as ANYTHING but dramatic negativity coming out of your keyboard. If that were the case, then the window would have to open more often to get the applications they need.

You answered your own question. Didn't need that many new hires in the past or in the near future.

2 years ago "sources" said 400 new hires and turns out there were no where near that number hired. 150 to 250 new hire in 2013, sure! Net growth in the past 5 years has never matched deliveries. I bet in 2013 we hire less than 75. Unless the real majors start to hire in mass or AA hits the bottom and starts it's way back up the list at the end of the year.

The 7 day window is simply a gimmick. Nothing more.

I bet if I checked you have trolled every single Jetblue thread over the past 2 year or longer. Why is that? Is Jetblue your Girlfriend, Manti or are you in a cubical?

This post is a joke. We have already nearly hired 75 this year, with more classes scheduled. The rest of your post is just as accurate.

COO in his conference call a week ago said 75 for the year and maybe 40 maybe for 117. Rob is a joke too? Classes are scheduled in the sense they are on the schedule and that means nothing in terms of actual hiring.

Do you always fly to the Alternate because it is planned on the release?

Still trolling Manti!
