You really need to read the MOU with your eyes on what the company can do or not do. Put away you hate for the East just for a moment if that is even possible.

American pilots are 190 pay protected indefinitely
Airways pilot are pay protected for the MTA only.

What does that tell you about where all the 190 will be going?

Furloughed Airways pilot must comply with a preferential hiring agreement and then will be listed on the American list in the order they appear on the property.

Furloughed American pilots will appear on the Airways list in seniority order amongst themselves.

The company MAY go for a single certificate. Why is it do you think that word is in there?

There is much more, but I know there is very little point.

I am on the East. Try and be less divisive and do some study. I have read the MOU and seen the road show and know precisely what the history of the US Airways pilots have been through. Did you not know that for every 190 future deliveries 2 goes to American and 1 to US Airways?

Like voting to elect an official or to become a parent there should be a test! You would clearly fail a test on the MOU or history at US Airways! You are dead wrong about the single certificate, furloughed pilots and the 190s.

I agree with you on one thing - there is little point.
 
There has also been a lot of debate and discussions about the MOU posted by bloggers and on web boards – and debate is good. However, debate should be a serious process that should not be relegated to name-calling, personal attacks or baseless opinions, as has been happening too often. You can find the answers to your questions on the USAPA website. The MOU & 2012 APA Collective Bargaining Agreement are there for your review. At the end of the day, those are the documents you’re voting on, not hearsay or gossip in the crew rooms or on web boards.

Many people are angry and frustrated. For far too long, we have not been treated fairly by the Company. Many have lost pensions and we’ve all been paid bankruptcy-era wages for too many years. But all of us – you, me and every pilot in this Union – must put aside our emotions and vote with our brains. If we do that, we will make the best decision for ourselves and our families.

I am proud of our NAC and the entire negotiating team – our lawyers, professional negotiator, BPR, committee members and others who were involved in these discussions. They all committed themselves to a professional process, and after ten months, have collectively arrived with a rational decision. They have negotiated and recommended this MOU as the best possible deal for you and your career.

Now the decision is yours. There are less than four days remaining for you to cast your vote on the MOU. Please make sure to vote by 2pm ET on Friday, February 8.

Why are you living in such a fantasyland? That statement you just said is a completely false statement and is total rubbish.

There is nothing in the MOU that gives AA pilots anything preferential to USAirways pilots.
I was speaking to Furloughed Airways pilots having to comply with Americans preferential hiring agreement in award FLO-0180 and the September 14, 2011 preferential hiring agreement. That, oh enlightened one is contained in paragraph 8 (i) of the MOU.

* There is nothing in the MOU that says AA nor US Airways pilots will be pay-protected any differently or for any different durations.

Try reading the MOU paragraph 12 (a) referencing Airways pilots "the final version of this pay protection provision including its duration, will be substantively the same as the MTA"

Contrast that to (b) for current American pilots "This pay protection shall terminate if and when the involuntarily-diplaced pilot can hold a position at the same or higher pay rate"

Get it, American pilots are protected until they can hold higher paying positions Airways pilots are protected for the duration of the MTA.

* You are trying to twist things somehow referring to how furloughed pilots will be treated. It's very clear - before hiring off-the-street pilots - AA furloughed pilots can go to the bottom of the US Airways list (in the order they appear on the AA list) if US Airways is hiring and AA is not. And, US Airways furloughed pilots can go to the bottom of the AA list (in the order they appear on the US Airways list) if AA is hiring and US Airways is not. This language is the same in most all airline mergers, and makes sense.

Sound great except that is not what it says...
Paragraph 8 (i) (1) states as it refers to furloughed Airways pilots "will be ranked among themselves in the order of their acceptance of positions with" American...

Contrast that to paragraph 8 (j) concerning furloughed American pilots
"will be ranked among themselves in seniority order"

* Of course, management will immediately apply for single-carrier status and certificate. (Just as they did in the America West/US Airways merger, and Delta/NW, and United/Continental, etc., etc.) That makes no sense that they wouldn't. In fact, there are specific timelines in order to get this done quickly. They are structuring this agreement to make sure it happens fast, along with a seniority list integration. Not becoming a single carrier, would make zero econmic sense. The whole reason for a merger is to combine operations and create synergies.

Sure the fact that they use the word "may" in paragraph 9, as in "may move forward with obtaining and utilizing a single certificate", is just a typo. That and when they talk about "operationally merged" all were just accidentally put in there.

People like you are scaring me to death. Trying to read so much into this document in such a state of paranoia and fear and twisting words around, and telling people to vote against this.

Scare you, why because I can read what is actually written instead of what I wish it said? When you need another car please give me a call I will have a great deal for you.

I could go on, but I know there is no point.

Have you read anything I posted or at least looked it up in the actual MOU? I gave you paragraph and section numbers.

Do you really believe given what I have proven about the pay rate protection that 190 will ever be flown by a "native" American pilot?
