Dear Fellow Pilot,

This morning, at 1000 ET, the ratification window for the Contract 2012 Tentative Agreement closed.***** Contract 2012 has been ratified by the Delta pilots.***** Of 10,864 eligible Delta pilots, 10,170, or 94 percent cast their vote. Of those, 6,327, or 62 percent voted “In Favor” of the agreement.

*****

The agreement will become effective on Sunday, July 1, 2012.***** Once implemented, the PWA will continue in full force and effect through December 31, 2015.

*****

In the coming weeks and months, you will receive a variety of communications as various contractual items approach implementation.***** The first of these, Scheduling Alert 12-07 -- Scheduling and PBS - What is About to Change and When, will be sent to you later today and will provide you with a broad overview of scheduling/PBS-related items that will be implemented over the next 19 months with an emphasis on those items that will be implemented in July and August.***** In particular, all pilots will receive a 4% pay rate increase on July 1, and the Reserve Guarantee will increase to the Average Line Value less two hours (72 hour minimum; 80 hour maximum).

*****

The ratification of the agreement represents the culmination of several months of effort on the part of your elected representatives, the entire extended committee structure, ALPA staff professionals, and the Negotiating Committee.***** Thanks to all of you who took the time to participate in the process by providing input to your elected reps, attending road shows, and ultimately, casting your vote.

*****

Respectfully,

Tim O’Malley
Chairman
Delta Master Executive Council
Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l

It wouldn't have affected this vote at all. My point is that 38% aren't happy with the contract ALPA got us. 5400 cards are needed to have the opportunity to vote in DPA, of which only 491 are still needed.

I don't know how much better pay they could have gotten us, but I can guarantee there would have been no more Lar-J's. (gonna copyright that one fast)

I would not want to be the union that represents a group where 4 out of 10 members are not in sync with the leadership. Watch for some local recall efforts. The next 3 years will be a leadership nightmare on a divided MEC.

Interesting point. The amazing thing to me is the only thing for sure about DPA is, if it got voted in, the Delta pilots would never have a solidified union behind them. They would be fractured for the foreseeable future and would have less bargaining power. How do the DPA supportes think they could get a better contract?
No flame, I really am curious how they think voting in a union if they could muster up 51 percent of the vote could effect any kind of positive change?

I think this vote proves that the DPA is dead. Had it ratified by 52%, they might have still had a slim chance, but with it going 62% in favor, they're dead. The head DPA moron also sent out an email update the other day comparing DALPA and the TA to the communist Chinese government forcing women to have abortions against their will. I can't imagine that they got many new supporters with that kind of insensitive tripe.

I can't say your wrong PCL. But a little over 60% yes vote is fairly week, especially when there was such a strong turnout of almost 95%. I would say they do stave off DPA, but not by a huge margin.

Best quote I've found sums this whole deal up perfectly:

The majority of Delta pilots are owed a debt of gratitude for saving the DPA guys from their own stupidity.

Wow, I guess we have no back bone.

Guess its time to start firing off the resumes.

That is your choice. Go join Redflyer at the bottom of SWA forever. Goodbye.

Bye Bye---General Lee

So says mr knowitall from the XJet world. Bet you wouldn't say that to their face would you chicken sheet. Especially if you ever get an interview at DAL!

Embarrassing that you're even employed at XJet. Moron!

Refreshing. Someone with some standards for what's right vs. the outsourcing of larger 'Regional' Jets. Although there's nothing really regional about them anymore.

PS - The regional airline stocks were up more than 3 times Delta stock today. Tell you something is good for them?

And you bought your type........standards? Riiiight. The Regionals will be losing three times more planes than they will be gaining.

Go hug an AirTran pilot, they deserve it.

You're going to resign from Delta because of this contract? Really?

Since you're probably senior to me I think it's a smart move. I'm sure you'll be able to secure gainful employment in the sandbox. Bring plenty of sunscreen.

Oh, and I think USAirways is hiring. Don't let the door hit you ...

Interesting that the nut cases you describe and others on here ( can you imagine someone actually saying they are going to resign over this TA?) are the DPA supporters.
I guess you have to be a little loony to think DPA could oust ALPA and create the necassary unity to somehow get a better contract than the current pilot group can. What do they think, a whole new group of pilots are going to step up and get a better contract? Haven't they heard of USAPA?
