The letter states that I have 30 days to resubmit or I revert to a 2nd class medical. Anyone ever had this issue before and if so, how did you fix it? Do I need to return to my Dr's office for another ECG, or can they just resend it?

Thanks

I'd call the doctor first. Most likely you'll have to go back, but that's just my guess. It depends if he saved a copy, but usually it's transmitted live to the FAA these days I believe.

I had that happen a while back because the fax didn't come out right or something of that effect, I just went back to the doctor's office and had another one done and resent to the FAA, I wasn't charged for it either.

Sometime the FAA Aeromed Office in OKC doesn't link your EKG properly with your file. At least in my case, the EKG was identified by a reference number which is neither SSN or ATP Cert number, or anything I would know. I had to call the central FAA Aeromed number, and the woman who answered figured it out very quickly. She said this issue happened every now and then.

I had this happen a few years back, just call the doctor and ask him to resubmit, they keep it in your file.

I had this happen several years ago...that's a great letter to get from the FAA isn't it. The problem was that the FAA machine had a problem receiving the EKG from my Dr. They re-sent it twice, but the FAA wasn't receiving it. Finally, my DR. sent them a copy of it (I believe via Fax machine)

Like everyone else stated...happens a lot. Mine had to do with FAA not using SSN anymore. The Dr. transmitted with my social instead on my cert #.

Called him (he was very familiar with the letter and how to correct it). Said the quickest way to fix it was do another EKG and resubmit. Took all of 3 mins.

More than likely...your Dr has dealt with this before.

I went thru this same scenario also about 3 months ago. I called my doctor and he FedExed a better copy and it was ok. Good luck

My Dr. is out of town for the next two weeks! That leaves about one week to get it done. If not, I guess I get to see how good that Loss of License insurance I've been paying for really is. What a freaking pain in the butt this is! Thanks for all of the advise.
