Virgin America over the Pacific yesterday doing Proving runs for ETOPs!?!

Does the A320 have the legs to do anything other than the Bay Area?

Got behind a British Airways A318 on the track a few months ago. Took off from JFK and I think he was going to London City. Speedbird 2..it's not a concorde anymore

Hell a old classic 737 can make HNL but not under ETOPS rules and fuel requirements .. Who does ETOPs with A320's any where in the world? Just wondering what stage length and with what seat loads?

Very common in East Asia. Check out some of the operators in the region out of SIN, BKK etc.

320 can make HNL under fair conditions with little wiggle room. The NEO will have about another 45 minutes of contingency.

The company is pretty agressive in pushing for approvals. We got CAT3 in the first year of operations.

SFO CUN would benefit immediately from ETOPS. We also would use it for nat tracks on delivery flights. HI is winglet and NEO country.

A319's are the ones with the range. Use to do BOS-LAX full, with 45min taxi outs, no problem..

SFO-CUN isn't ETOPS. And delivery flights are Part 91, no ETOPS required.

If A320 gets ETOPS VX can save alot of money on fuel to CUN. Currently, A320 flights can't venture beyond 162NM on CUN route while ETOPS flights shoot straight across gulf.

ETOPS means flying more than an hour from an adequate airport. The gulf isn't ETOPS unless you're flying a Piper Cub. All your Airbus needs in order to cut the Gulf is ELTs, Rafts, and flares.
