Would a current spirit pilot be willing to send me a private message so i can ask some questions, I dont want to waste everyone elses time but i have a good shot at getting a chance to work there and i would like to find out as much info as possible.
Thanks!

you must be in the pool already to have a "good shot" unless you are friends with the CP or something...because I know a few people who have not got a call with 7-8k total with 6+ Jet/121 PIC and internal LORs.

But seriously, what questions do you have?

Is DTW a realistic option for a new hire or pretty senior?

What are trips like (length, how many days on/off)

Another DTW Question

Just sat in a Spirit Jumpseat...the crew said that new hires that want DTW are getting it no problem now. FO said DTW is starting to go junior again. Any truth to this from other Spirit drivers? Thanks.

Thanks for the info! Did they have anything to say about QOL?

Thanks for the info! Did they have anything to say about QOL?

The FO has been there for 5 years and is a few months from upgrade. He said they get a minimum of 4 days of between trips(i.e. do a four day, then 4 days off minimum, or a 2 day followed by a 3 day, then minimum of 4 days off. He seems to enjoy it.

QOL is great, if you live in base--as with most airlines. If you commute the trips are usually commutable on one side or another. Reserve is commutable, day 1 is protected for the start time and the last day is protected to 4 hours after the awarded end time (so if you are 0200-1600 reserve, the latest you can be released from your last day is 2000) and you get automatically released on your last day 6 hours prior to the end of you reserve duty.

Is DTW going junior for new hires?

How many days on/ off for reserve? Typical to break guarantee
What is likelyhood of acy remaining a domicile? Indefinitely?

Question - are new hires currently going right to class or are they going into a pool for future classes? Does anyone know when the next 2 classes are?
thanks

minimum days off:
Line holder 13
Relief line 15
Reserve 12 or 13 during 31 day months

I never came in the ball park of guarantee, 65 was the closest I ever got...and that was the last month I bid reserve (I spent 2 years on reserve deliberately, because I live in base and only flew at the most 6 days in a busy month)

Thanks MO.

Anyone have an idea of growth at ACY? QOL in that domicile??

Hard to tell what will happen. My guess is that it will stay stagnant. ACY guys like it there. Up until recently it used to be two days and mostly country club flying. Last I saw they were doing 3 days also. Bottom third of the FO list is junior and mostly bids out with the first vacancy in FLL.

Btw whoever asked, reserve is 3h to push.

Thanks. ^^^^^

spirit have efb's , ipads planned, or jepp airside?
All paper? Manuals downloadable from company website?

Overnight hotel quality? Does BB and other top folks communicate
Well to the group? Or is it the usual mushroom analogy like elsewhere.

Thanks for all your input folks! I put my stuff in last week and just want more
Of a feel for the company.

No EFBs or airside service. Lots of talk only. The airplane has laptops for most manuals, MELs, FOM, etc. But you carry your own Jepps.

Overnight hotels are between really good to good. At least that is my opinion. Hilton, Hyatt, Sheraton, Holiday Inn, etc. All with some crew discounts and free wifi, some with free breakfast and brown bags for morning crews.

Like hunchcowboy said hotels are nice to very nice, however in my opinion...I flipping hate the hotels, don't get me wrong it is nice to stay at a Hyatt Regency, what reall sucks about those is there is nothing around them (they seem to be more of a convention center or trade group meeting place) and while we do receive a discount, 10% or 25% off on a $40 hamburger, fries and a coke makes it a $30 hamburger, fries and a coke.

But like I said that is how I feel. My suggestion, is to stay at a nice hotel (not a super nice--something like a Hampton or Double Tree near something like a mall or a target or a restaurant)

For those that have applied fairly recently, how long before you received the call to interview?

Also Spirit guys, looking through your timetables, I noticed that you have a significant number of flights that leave outstations at like 2am. Are these highspeeds or day trips? It seems like they would be very fatiguing

Seven gonna be a NK pilot!!!!!!!! How do you feel now that you have PINNACLE on your resume. Remember that post? How you'd NEVER have Pinnacle on your resume. Nothing but crickets chirpin, son!

I applied back in September and wanted to update my resume. I can't find a place to do that on the website. It seems like the only option is to apply for the job. When I do that, it comes back and says I already applied. Any ideas?
