Met the mother of my sons friend yesterday. Asked me what I did for a living,
"Fly airplanes"

I thought airplane pilots make lots of money, I saw in an article!
Well, not this pilot!

You probably missed a good opportunity to get laid. Was she hot?
 
If you were to lose all your ratings, would you start from private pilot to earn them all back? Or would you try something different?

Absolutely without a doubt yes! I'd do it all over except I wouldn't be in such a rush to get to the next level. I'd enjoy each stage of my career.
 
What a sheer waste of time post and article. That article also named doctors and lawyers as overrated careers, the same careers bitter pilots tell kids to go get into! Even stock broker is listed on there! I bet this same article is posted on those other career forums with bitter and depressed wackos whining as well. Whine on peeps, hopefully one of these days you'll find happiness in that next golden career you find with 400k pay and 20 days off a month.

it is absolutely embarrassing to have to continue to field questions on what we make and have to set that record straight...

What are you talking about? That's exactly what my job is like. Oh wait, I thought you wrote 40K a year and 20 days ON.
