I got called the 19th for an interview today. Passed the first day, tomorrow is phase two.
any word on guys who had a class date years ago but class was cancelled?
I had a friend who said he was hired waiting on class a few years ago, maybe it was more like 8-10 years ago?
3 of 16...tough cut. As long as you don't say something stupid to the CP, you're probably in!
This sound like it would be very similar to the information in a cover letter? Did they just give a blank piece of paper and a pencil?[/While we were waiting for the interview, we had to write a one to two page paper about what led up to being here.]

With all the technology at our finger tips these days it seem like an odd way of gaining information on a canadidates background.
I don't think I have hand written a two page paper in 15 or 20 years. Plus I am the worst speller that I know!.
Yes, it was a blank pad of paper and I felt the same way, hadn't written anything by hand that lengthy in a looong time. Psch test today, so far no mention of any math/technical questions.
Well I got hired in 2005 with the worst handwriting and spelling ever. I think its just one last thing they can throw you out on if they are on the fence about you. But if they like you and want you they probably just laugh at what you had to say and how cheezy it was.
I had 7 letters of rec which is probably the only reason I was called this early in the process. Overall it was a very positive experience and I'm glad I had the opportunity. Best of luck to those who get called.
Well, the ordeal is over. Got the call from HR today and crashed and burned. Maybe it was the hand-writing analysis or maybe the psych test showed I like to spend too much time in dark rooms by myself. I thought I did pretty good on the interview portion, but you never know how you stack up against the competition. Oh well, back to commuting to the desert and good ole useless airways. There's always next time.
OP
Not only is HR running the hiring show, but I heard a story yesterday about HR trying to fire one of our Capts. based on his check airman interview.
