This is kinda like te people who have a flight delayed or get cancelled becasue of bad weather.

Bentover -- There is a reason FO, CA and Avantair are now growing -- and it is not from many new customers to private aviation. It is from owners leaving NJ.

Very accurate statement. In our especially tough times, (let's hope that the fallout from this latest stock market plunge is minor), the value that Avantair presents is especially appealing. Netjets is a GREAT product, but pricey. Times dictate the need for a value-driven service provider.

Needless to say, there will most likely be "reverse fallout" when the markets recover and stabilize.

Best of luck ot all of us.

I agree Avantair is probably a much more sound investment for a select number of individuals in a very specific market.... (And I say this without knowing the range or even the noise level of a Piaggio) But I assume for a stage length of 2 hrs or more it wouldn't be something all would want to be in?? Just speculating of course. .... Here's to hoping this weeks market is nothing more than a blip and temporary setback

Bent, i think everyone on here can agree with you about hoping this is a blip. This blip, if continued will impact all of our high end services.

Have fun with that. Fact is, a recovery at NJA is much faster than anyone else can offer. The stranded thing, happens much more often with smaller companies also. Its a matter of size, more planes, better chance of recovery. Thats why even at NJs worst, the others have never beaten the recovery time. The grass is always greener. Go find out for yourself. Our recurrent is strife with stories of owners stranded in the Caribbean with a hurricane on the way, with the others unwilling to pick them up. Netjets to the rescue.

Have fun finding this out.

I find it curious that for years when NJAowner was extolling the virtues of his NJ share, all the NJ pilots on FI loved him. Now, not so much. I thought he was a straight shooter then and I think he is a straight-shooter now.

Read and heed.

There is a substantial market share of fractional owners who, for them, "service" (not the NetJets name) is the differentiator. For these folks it is the total owner experience that matters and they are ripe for picking. The fact that NJ probably has more airframes than all of their competitors combined is only part of this equation, and it certainly does not guarantee exemplary service.

A "select number of individuals in a very specific market" is actually quite large. They operate 55 aircraft which equates to the single largest light jet fleet in the industry. Can the aircraft do NYC-South Florida? If so, that's a big market and certainly more than 2 hours. I think most would rather be in it than an ultra or bj as its larger.

I just threw in a flight plan for 4 pax using today's winds from BOS to PBI with a 1200 departure flying the Atlantic Route.

Total time: 3:35 with a 10 kt avg headwind
Burn: 2,087

I used an alternate of FLL with a 220 lbs burn.

All of this fits on a P180 and would be a legal flight.

ProFracPilot -- BINGO!

There is enough, overly ripe , low hanging fruit at NJ that one's marketing plan should be just to get some of that -- and all the other fracs will easily meet their most optimistic sales numbers.

3:35 from bos to pbi? Wow, i thought that thing was supposed to be fast.

If Netjets is losing so many owners to the other fractionals.. Why aren't they all recalling/hiring like crazy? (some have recalled but I wouldn't call it a frenzy) I realize NJA is losing owners but I haven 't seen any hint of a mass exodus to the door yet.... If NJA furloughs another couple hundred I may be more believing....but the fact they haven't "yet" is a telling sign of how things are hanging on.....

We know they wouldn't really keep them all on property if they didn't need them....
