I should have posted this under a new topic earlier, so I apologize for those of you that might have read this twice, now three times. I am new to this board and just figuring things out.

It seems almost pointless to post anything on this topic, but I felt the need to say something, at least. I see no reason to be completely ugly and unprofessional to each other even when the official details come out and it is not what you want or expected. Doing so only adds to the stress and tension of this whole process that was initially played way up as "One Luv" and happy to have the AT crew members aboard. This acquisition was a decision at the corporate level and above the pay grade of anyone on this forum, most likely. It is shocking to see the level to which some pilots on both sides of the fence have lowered themselves to with the comments made. Someday you might have to share a cockpit with each other.

We all want the best for ourselves, our families, and our companies. Not every person is going to get what he or she wants out of this deal; seniority will be lost, upgrades delayed, bases changed, etc. We need to realize this and stop the hostile, negative vibes. Wait for the official SLI to come out and then take a good hard look at it, using your brain and not your emotions or ego. Think about what it is like for the pilots in the other group. Let's get this SLI done in a fair manner and move towards our common goals; both sides are on the verge of much bigger and better things with plenty of the rewards to go around in the future.

I certainly hope that there are more of you out there that feel this way. I am sure there are. Take the time to voice your opinion here.

Cheers to the future.

You think this sappy piece of crap deserves it's own thread? Don't drag both groups into your fantasy.

As an outside observer, it's the trannies here on FI that give you guys a bad name. I haven't read anything unreasonable from the Southwest pilots. You trannies just hit the frickin lottery. Unless you screw the pooch with your greed!

Bobby, you should work out more and post less on those Lubbock overnights. Just sayin...

Cue the name-calling...but please don't call me dipstick. You can do better, Bobby D, Also, make sure you get your playmate Vixin to weigh in on this one. He brings a little more flair than you with your repetitious drivel.

As an outside observer, I wish the nothing but the best to both SWA's and AAI's pilot groups and hope for a quick resolution.

As someone who lives in GA, I have seen first hand the major impact AAI has had on air travel in ATL over the last 10 years and I can only imagine what they/SWA can do considering SWA's proven track record and great financials.

Best wishes to the guys and gals of AAI and SWA.

It's not a fantasy, "Bob Dylan". It is what should happen if two groups of adults set their sights on a common goal and work towards it in a constructive and civilized manner, doing a gut check along the way to help find what is fair to both sides, keeping in mind the circumstances and the facts. Sure emotions are going to run high because it is an unsure time for a lot of people and change can be difficult when you are set in your ways and have a certain path that you expect to follow. Just take the high road when somebody says something idiotic or inflammatory.

Debate, dicussion and disagreement is healthy and it is the way that good things are forged. All I am saying is the personnal attacks and the broad generalizations from BOTH sides are not the way that things get done. Perhaps that is why none of us are in there negotiating the SLI.

Let's not let the trash talkers, both AAI and SWA, and 3rd party folks set the tone for OUR future. Think about it.

Jealousy is a curse Bobby.

hey K69 thanks for the civil post. It can't be overstated that the few mudslingers that reside on this board only represent 1 to 2 percent of the combined forces of AAI/SWA.

These suffer from " bearded clam cybermania " , a condition which causes someone to constantly post outrageous comments without the fear of getting the beat down they deserve if said posts were uttered in full view of the public.

It doesn't surprise me that the "King of the Bearded Clams" posted so quickly.

I am sure you are right about the 1-2% of trouble makers; always seems to be the case. I just cannot wait to get this whole thing past us and let the good times roll! Seriously.

Thanks to all who share the same views on this. Keep on posting.
