I understand mesaba was VERY unflattering in the negotiaions. Block was bothered by many things including them showing up 20 minutes on the final day. Very un-professional seven.

Well, maybe you should collect some facts and data of your own and start your own thread with a new topic. This thread isn't about that.

Good sources are saying that their initial proposal to the arbitrator was to:

- Merge the Colgan and Pinnacle lists by some method, since the holdings company bought Colgan long before Mesaba.

- Cut the bottom 600 off the Mesaba list, and merge the remaining top with the Pinnacle/Colgan list.

- Finally, take the bottom 600 that were removed from the Mesaba list and staple them to the bottom.

Their justification for that is they "saved" those bottom 600 from furlough anyway, so we should be put at the bottom and thank them for saving XJ jobs.

But, that was before they essentially walked away from the table this past week. Mesaba and Colgan are still trying to make this work. I imagine that went over really well with the arbitrator, who would strongly prefer a mutually agreed upon solution. Thanks for making us look good, and for providing yet another negotiating advantage to Colgan and especially the Mesaba pilot group. It is no wonder these guys went so long without a contract.

I don't think the arbitrator is a fool and the same can hardly be said for the 9E MEC if the facts are as they appear to be...Pinnacle can aim as high as they want and hope for a great compromise by the arbitrator but most likely what will happen now is that they've overstepped their bounds and pissed off the arbitrator and everyone else involved. In my opinion, the Pinnacle MEC has shot themselves in the foot. We'll all know soon.

If the Mesaba pilots weren't furloughed, they won't be stapled by any arbitrator. Also, each MEC will try to get the best seniority possible for their own group, that is their job. The arbitrators will do the deciding, so they are the ones to blame eventually. It's just business. Just roll your eyes and make sure your lawyers fight for you.

OYS

Im not saying yes or no to any of the truths or mistruths that SEVEN is stating on this page...lord knows ive had my verbal meltdowns with SEVEN...HOWEVER...it cannot really be argued that the majority of the 9E pilot group might suggest theyre distaste with the former MEC chair...many (especially in my base...very senior..take a guess) believe the MEC threw us under the bus many times instead seeking out personal advancements. So while SEVEN may or may not be speaking truth as to his knowledge of rumours regarding the SLI...most of us have alot more faith in our new MEC chair and SEVEN is pretty much spot on...that has little or nothing to do with the fact that it took 6 plus years to negotiate a new contract..but im just stating the cold hard truth...any 99 out of 100 9E pilots will agree with that sentiment regarding SOME members of our former MEC

Just heard there will be an announcement tomorrow stating that the Colgan name will stay and the Mesaba name will not. Those on the props will fly for Colgan, those on the jets will fly for Pinnacle. Hope this isn't true. Lot's of "chatter" over the last couple of days.

I heard the same thing from an individual in management that this decision was made two days ago via a conf. call with management officials. Apparently, the DC FSDO is resisting moving the certificate to Memphis and to move everyone from Mesaba to Colgan's certificate is the fastest way to get all the turboprops on a single operating certificate. Sounds to me like the company is taking the path of least resistance here.
We can immediately make some assumptions here about how this will evolve, but whether those assumptions are accurate is anyone's guess. I expect that it won't be something that the Mesaba guys will be very happy about. And, for that I don't blame them. Mesaba has a proud history...Colgan a bit dubious...Well...Anyway, I am looking forward to welcoming all Mesaba guys and gals aboard to make this uncertain journey together in building a solid foundation for the future with an emphasis of teamwork, professionalism and leadership from the cockpit.

Also, Phil T. will emerge on the board at Sun Country who will facilitate their acquisition by Pinnacle. The is truly a crazy industry.

Must be all you guys at Colgan, Mesaba, Pinnacle are short. This entire thread is about trying to be a tall midgit

The latest and greatest rumor now is that the SLI is already done, and the bottom barrel pilot is SEVEN. The arbitrator decided to use arrogance as the integration method, with the most arrogant pilots at the bottom. Congrats SEVEN, you take first place prize at the bottom.

Good. The bottom of the list is filled with a few outspoken 9E'rs then too.
