I was looking at the CJ200 Cpt reserve list and saw a 4 day trip assigned to a guy with a 67:44 hour layover. Really! Get to ORD on Saturday at 19:23, leave on Tuesday (deadhead) at 16:07.

Nice! paid vacation.

I think he was told that trip was to cover Express Jet flying because they are short. Go figure right? What about us that are short on crews out of ATL?????

So do I thank 'em for flying ASA or XJT?

...."Thanks for flying United operated by Expressjet operated by Atlantic Southeast"

Well, the 67 hour overnight is being interrupted by a GSP turn today. Notification was via ACARS and was legal. Interesting stuff, as we have 5 pax to GSP, and 4 on the return. Also interesting as they have assigned it on an aircraft that is currently in the hanger with a flaps fail. They already cancelled one flight today due to flap on that bird. We shall see....

Everyone gets to be a reserve again! Fun Times!!

You call this a paid vacation at per diem rates?

+3.75/day, nice hotel downtown, free breakfast....you bet! The fam would come along too. Heck, 3 nights stay in a nice downtown hotel with free transport? Per diem and pay would be a bonus.

3.86. :)

Or just head home. No requirement to stay at the hotel, you don't even have to tell them where you will be, just not at the hotel. Still get the min day
