"As a US Airways Captain (former America West), I and my western colleagues are perfectly happy to work through the end of our careers under our present contract. Our present contract is miles ahead of the legacy US Airways pilots' contract, on account of their employment with a failing airline where they had no career prospects moving forward - a point clearly noted in the seniority arbitration decision that resulted from our agreed-upon protocol.

US Airways customers need have no fear of any pilot labor-related service disruption, as former America West Airlines pilots stand ready to fly through any labor turbulence stemming from a non-legitimate pilot union."

That Nic must be one sweet deal for AWA pilots. It is either DOH with C an d R's or separate ops. There is nothing non-legitimate about the new Union. Unions are voted out all the time with work groups.

What a Geek you are

The USAIR east guys have busted their ass for years and years. They gave up a ton of money back in the early 2000's. They have every right to picket to try and get back much of the money they have given up.

Oh yes and the seniority (date of hire) on the east side is way ahead of the seniority on the west side in all but a few of the pilots. Just saying the truth.

Some of you west guys continually try to screw over your brothers to the east (you guys are a a disgrace to all pilots and should be ashamed of yourselfs).

Thank you very much!!

A strike over DOH will never ever happen. The NMB will park you idiots for eternity...something that CAL scab failed to mention on TV awhile back.

Since when does longevity equal seniority? If you have been there for 20 years and are still on the bottom you are junior.

You are telling me a 5 or 8 year West Pilot should get seniority over a 20+ year east pilot >>> at the same company?

You aren't too smart young man.

And which company was almost liquidated? Too bad you guys were saved by America West - think about it - you could be making more and flying newer equipment elsewhere (i.e., Southwest/AirTran, JetBlue, Delta, etc.) had Doug Parker actually quit drinking and not saved your a$$es... The other airlines would have grown and filled-in the void left by your shut-down airline. You can thank Doug and the investment bankers for your stalemate.

It ain't the same company. And it ain't us telling you, it's the arbitrator. You know, they guy both sides agreed to have decide our combined list. Only one side decided it was okay to ignore it and try to impose a new list that benefits them. It's that integrity thing, don'tcha know, meaning doing the right thing even when it hurts. I try to teach my son to do the right thing. Do you?
