What I think is fair is maybe the SWA pilots get something out of the deal, maybe a bump in seniority, because there is little else the combination of the two list can provide for the SWA pilots. I know the AAI pilots are gaining quite a bit, no matter if they are on the bottom of the new list or intergrated throughout the list. I think for the most part the SWA contract is better in most aspects. I know AAI just got a payraise, weird how it happened all the sudden after the deal was announced. Only AAI managament knows if that was gonna happen regardless of the merger, but someone looking from the outside, I think the announcement of the deal was the only reason they got a new contract. I know the only thing I can gain is seniority. I can gain the promise of growth but that doesn't count for much until it happens, just like some guys say that pay can change, and therefore doesn't get factored, well that doesn't matter until it happens. Now if we could only fly some of the magical places that GL does, my life would be perfect.

The Delta guys didn't get much extra pay when the joint contract was agreed upon with the merger. I think we got a 5% payraise,(with an additional 4% per year for 3 more years) and some stock, which wasn't too bad. (oil was trading at $130 a barrel at the time of signing) The NWA pilots got a 30% raise per hour, kept their frozen pensions, and better work rules to boot. Yes, there were other things that the NWA guys still complain about that they lost, but overall they did fairly well, and we didn't get much more than a slight raise, and a stronger company. That is the way it goes. You hope to get something, and a stronger company at the same time. And you will, but a neutral will figure out what is fair with the SLI, and that will be that. Not much you can do.

And, it would be nice if you had the option to see the world on SWA's dime. Since the merger, I have seen a lot more of Asia, and I really like it. I used to do a lot of Rio and Europe, but Asia seems to be my favorite area now. Touring with US Park Rangers in Saipan, climbing the Great Wall on Beijing layovers, and eating Sushi in Narita, are all just a lot more interesting than my old domestic stuff. But, if I want to try that stuff again someday, I will. (maybe as Captain too) Your merger will allow some new stuff for you I suppose. Instead of LBB, you can look forward to Tunica, Charlie West (WV), Bloomington, and Moline. Throw in an allnighter or two, and it will seem like a totally different airline. See, mergers can be fun! Why have you been avoiding the truth for 6 months?

The official number was an average 9% raise but a 7% decrease in guarantee hours for a net gain of 2%. As far as work rules some were better some were not, but many had lower W-2s in 2009 under the DAL contract than they did in 2008 under the NWA contract. These are facts, now back to the thread.

11 or 12 depending on the month? I don't really know, I haven't been on reserve in YEARS. If you get reserve at Delta, you can always bid to another plane to improve your schedule or QOL, and being more senior allows you to bid better trips or swap trips to make more cash. What else would you like to know? The truth is the AT guys will do great at SWA.

I said 30% PER HOUR raise, which is correct. If you try to add other things that NWA guys had, like more pay if you fly over 80 hours, etc, then you can lower that amount, but then if you add greenslips, then it goes back up. It was called a joint contract, that was approved overwhelmingly.

That is definitely NOT correct. Not even close. On 10/30/2008 a NWA A320 fo went from $94.52/hr to $101.11/hr. Just under a 7% raise "PER HOUR".

747-400 CA went from $179.34/hr to $191.13/hr.... 6.5% raise "PER HOUR"

A330 got a 12% raise "PER HOUR".
757 got 11% raise "PER HOUR".

Most, not all, work rules improved, no argument. Green slips are cool if you can get'em. The stock was nice. Happy to be here.....just have to correct the 30% raise myth whenever I see or hear it. Guys on reserve got around a 2% raise on W2 with the merger (70hr guarantee vs 75 nwa)

I've got the numbers for every position for every year if you want. All DAL pilots have access to the same data so I'm really not sure why you keep spreading BLATANTLY and SIGNIFICANTLY wrong info????
