I can really see them replacing the shuttle with all E-190's. It seems like the Airbus always has about 80 seats open or more.

The Shuttle would be great with E190's and Q400's! Plus they are now saying in the next year or so oil will hit 120.00 a barrel again! God help us when that comes around again.

What's a typical schedule for you guys on the E190? Is it mostly shuttle flying doing PHL-BOS-DCA-BOS all day?

Also, does US Air require seniority resignation for furloughees?

Thanks!

190 flying (all out of PHL) is mostly one leg to BOS then "shuttle" (LGA and DCA) for the next 2, 3, 4 days. It can be quite painful some days.

Other 190 flying is ATL,PIT, RDU, DFW, MSY, JAX, BWI, freeport/nassua/punta canna/montego bay (only day turns on the island stuff). Majority of the overnights are LGA/BOS/ATL/RDU/PIT/DFW

Not much of a selection with only 15 190's in the fleet. The only reason I'm staying on it is because now I hold a line (hate reserve) but next bid I'm most likely going to pull chocks for the 737 (knock out that type before it goes away).

As far as I know I don't think they require furloughs to resign from their furloughed company.

I don't hate US Airways. I hate the scumbags that run/support your fake union. They violate the laws and the rights of the West pilots with idiotic impunity. I bet because of those effing morons, East pilots have left close to a billion dollars in improves wages, benefits, and work rules on the table because of their pointless little hissy fit. 2 out of every 3 upgrades isn't good enough? You guys want it all, all the money, all the benefits, furlough fodder....everything.

You're going to get none of it. I don't work for East or West. I wouldn't touch your airline with a 500nm pole. Anybody who would, is too young to know better.

Becket is a former east pilot got furloughed, got on at AWA. Then he saw the nice Nic award and was happy as a clam. But then things did not go as planned and he got furloughed again, because instead of being 25% up the list he is stagnating out west and is still unsure if he wants to return unless the nic is used.

Anyway, lots of movement on the east. 10 new hires a month for the foreseeable future. Starting pay on the 190 for a new hire is alot better then most and after that you can bid off.

Wow!!! Are you actually rationalizing you 190 pay? Bid off it later? To what? A-319/320/321/B-737/B-757/767/A-330 all equal industry lowest pay and work rules. The seniority thing will never get resolved thus you wont see a new contract for years to come. I hope the pay snap backs occur however, but that wont change the horrible culture of us airways. Btw i have seen the retirement projection via usapa publication....not that impressive at all. Anyone thinking of going there for a quick upgrade better reconsider.
