Air wisconsin hiring!!!

Saw the post on climbto350.com Air Wisconsin is looking for CRJ 200 pilots.
they have 70 CRJ200 and will need to hire for spring 2011

I spoke to someone who recently began training at AWAC. Before he shipped off to training, he told me he is ready and eager to start his new job there. Not too much is said about Air Wisconsin on this web site, vs. the other regional airlines. As far as a regional is concerned, is it better, worse, or ok?

Well its a 50 Seat RJ operator. Those will really start being Reduced. I know US Airways wants to reduce it 50 seat RJ's, but are locked into Leases at PSA and a Contract with AWac.
I see AWAC and Piedmont kinda in the same boat. If there isn't any new equipment in the near future it could be trouble.
But they have a great Pilot group and good pay/along with a good contract. I definitely wouldn't turn down the job. Just don't expect moral to be high and upgrades to come fast. But if you are new to the profession (First off sorry you choose it, and second don't turn down the job) Good Luck!

When do the contracts between AWAC, Piedmont due to expire with US Air? I remember working for Piedmont at BWI in the mid 1990's. They built this big terminal at the airport for all the express flights. Now, that terminal is only used for a few express flights.

AWAC's contract expires in 2015.

Piedmont isn't a contract carrier. I think Air Whiskey's terminates in 2015 unless they are the cheapest operator at that time (or USAir is bankrupt and needs more money), at which point they will get more work.

Well of course, however I believe Air Wisconsin pilots were approached with that option by management. However the pilots told them to pound sand to fly them at 50 seat RJ Rates.

But then again, US Airways has a scope on TurboProps at 70 seat. Which is kinda dumb. Q400 has 74 Seats.....

Problem is US Airways is at its max on Large RJ's. Who knows whats gonna happen. The talk has been for US Airways to have 1 big WO and 2 Contract Carriers. But then again a FA told me this!

Why? That's what Colgan does right now and it seems like they're growing. It's good to diversify for the future.
