Hi there, just curious for XO pilots on the 8on/6off schedule. Do you fly to/from your domicile on day 1 and 8? Also, I know it may vary, but are you flying ever day during your rotation? how many legs/hours do you average each day? Are you empty sometimes? Thank you in advance!

Also, do you get to keep the airline miles, hotel and rental car points?

In a typical week, you can expext to travel to/from home on days 1 and 8, occasionally operating trips on those days, and occasionally getting extended when trip logistics require it. We dont have the scale to make a 7/7 scheudle feasible without leaving several planes uncrewed every week, so we need the overlap day provided by the 8/6. Lately, we have been flying every day as the fleet has been running at close to max capacity. Looking at bumping up our next 300 delivery so we have it for the holiday season, with screening calls for the next round of interviews already in progress. 30 hours of flight time per 8 day rotation is typical, with 2-3 transcons and just as many visits to TEB. Yes, we're emtpy sometimes but that obvisously isn't the goal. And yes, we get to keep all the perks/points/miles of the job. You can use a company issued credit card for expenses, but several guys use their own to collect those points as well, and getting reimbursed quickly has never been an issue.

do they pay extra money when they extend you? Do they ask you to extend or do they just do it regardless?

Pay for OT? Yes...albeit it is a less than popular system. Plenty of room for improvement.

They ask for help, but sometimes it just doesn't matter, trip logistics dictate when&where the transitions take place. We're still a relatively small company that doesn't have the surplus coverage required to prevent this.

Hey T-Bone, thank you for the information. Im an FO at a regional right now, should be getting a call here from XO soon for the screening. Thanks! If I may ask, where were you before XOJET? Airline? Corporate?

Also, hows the interview process? PM me if you dont want to post here. Skywest interview was from 8am-5pm with an HR interview, technical questions, CRM scenario, written exams, and a sim check.

I have been updating my online app for a couple years now. I have 8000tt, 121 turb PIC, jet time, 4yr etc and still no call. I have never run in to any xo pilots so what else is there to do to get noticed?

I pulled an all nighter last night and was asleep today when the phone rang. I lifted it and set it down. The phone rang again with a South SFO phone number. I picked it up, said HELLO and the woman on the other end called to follow up on a job offer and a start date.

I thought I was dreaming and said, forgive me, but what job offer?

She then realized that there was another person with my uncommon name that she was trying to reach after I told her where I lived.

I told her that I updated my resume' there on a regular basis and said that I could accept the offer. I had no reference there. She said that I would need to obtain a reference.

Oh well, it was worth a try.

So with out a friend on the inside willing to drop you a line, the only way you will get a phone line is a wrong number?! Good to know...

Well CC, or is it DS? I'm sorry we woke you up. That was an unfortuante mistake. It won't happen again.
