Yeah, the goverment is here to protect us. I can believe that to a point, however all the goverment really ever cares about is the $$$$.

I believe businesses are in it for the $$$. Without some well thought out government regulation we descend back to the laws of the jungle. The belief that our popularly elected government is a force working against the citizens is a very cynical and self defeating viewpoint.

A Republican-controlled Congress with Bush as President was just as inept as a Democrat-controlled Congress with Obama as President.

Actually, the Democratic Congress was more inept - they couldn't stop their own infighting long enough to move their agenda through the legislative process while they had a supermajority and could have rammed it down the throats of the Republican minority.

Personally, I think "absolute power corrupts absolutely" and the legislative branch controlled by a political party different than the executive branch requires both to moderate a little bit and strike compromises...

You'll sing a different tune when the GWB tax cuts expire and the folks that previously paid to be your passenger now spend their money to cover obamacare. Then you'll be wondering why traffic is down, and furloughs and bankruptcies have increased. Must be the dishonest business man again....
