You are not even a professional pilot let alone a USAirways pilot.

You can accept or not accept the reality of the USAirways seniority list as it has absolutely no bearing on anything. You don't have a vote, just a daddy.
 
Just be glad you have a job in this industry and shut the $#%@^#%^^@#$%#@^ already. It can be fun and enjoyable if you let it.

Planning on the perfect career track? I suggest you find value in other things in life besides this industry. You will be better off mentally, and so will your family and loved ones. You might enjoy your job and value what you really have more.

The EastyWesty thing will go on for 20 years until the next merger. The Green book/red book did until the recent bankruptcies and merger. Delta/NWA went ok, but maybe just cause the NWA guys were tired from Green vs. Red. Next up United. Will it be "United?"

It could get worse in this country and I think it probably will. Enjoy it while it lasts. I will.

McDummy wants to compare Usair circa 2005 to SWA circa 2010, and then go on about DOH.

Think about it: USAir 2005 compared to SWA 2010. Yeah, not really the same thing at all (Not a comment at all about SWA and Airtran as I have friends at both, good luck figuring it out).

But then again why would facts bother you? Binding? What the Hell does that mean right?
 
SWA still have to vote on it. It is a proposal. If the SWA pilots have a vote that would implement a seniority proposal with a 3:1 slotting you will not see a contract with Valujet.

Under ALPA both groups needed a separate vote. How the hell was ALPA going to get 50%+1. The Nic under ALPA could not pass. If the Nic gets forced on the East, then it will go back to separate voting like ALPA had it. There is nothing final and binding about the Nic . ALPA even tried to change the list at Wye river, which means the list is negotiable. ALPA proved it when the tried to get the West to change their Windfall award.

Oh and by the way, many Valujet pilots think that because of the merger. Once this takes effect, that Valujet ceases to exist. As does Southwest. What remains is a new company. So want ever SW had does not really count. It is a new company just like USAIRWAYS.

Doosh, stop spouting nonsense you know nothing about. You have got it waaaaaay wrong. The ALPA merger policy specifically states that no MEC or member ratification of a seniority list is allowed. It is the job of the Merger Committee to come up with the list. Once they sign off on it - done. No vote, no polling, no ratification. Done.

The same goes for the Allegheny/Mohawk rules the Southwest/AirTran merger fall under. Although there isn't a specific clause like in the ALPA policy, there hasn't been a ratification vote in any of the A/M mergers in the past. That means by legal standards the precedent has been set, and there will be no ratification by rank & file pilots. The merger committee makes the decision, and it's done. If the merger committees can't agree, it goes to Binding Arbitration, a phrase you seem physically incapable of understanding.

This is just another outburst that shows you don't know what you're talking about.

Hey Halitosis

The crap you let out of your mouth is pretty bad. The list is a internal proposal and to be implemented a contract has to be voted on by both sides seperatly. So one side can can always veto it under ALPA creating a stalemate. That is unless you agree on a contract that would implement a seniority proposal like NWA and Delta did.

Alpa even told the East pilots that the Nic can not get implemented since you have to vote on it with a new contract propsal. Nic under ALPA had zero chance. That is why ALPA hoped the West would compromise and change the list so it might have a chance of passing. The West did not want to compromise so USAPA came along and ALPA left.

Thanks GOD ALPA left. That corrupt, dishonest organization only benefitted the weak airlines like AWA and the regional airlines- all the ones taht were a drag on the rest of us (AAA, DAL, UAL). I doubt those in charge of the SWA/Airtran merger are as starkly stupid as Doug Parker was about the AAA acquisition.

And how exactly was Parker stupid? He got 1000s of pilots to argue for over 5 years all while earning bankruptcy wages.

Reexamine your assumption that managements "want" or "need" to merge operations.

AHHH NOPE!! Wrong again.... The USAir certificate, along with its INTERNATIONAL ROUTE AUTHORITY, you know the one that MAKES money, still exists.

Why do you think the AW certificate was retired??.......... It was WORTHLESS!!
 
I agree with MCDU, just can't wait to see the "slotting" of ten year Air Trannies slotted in with 35 year Southwest captains. This is gonna fly! NOT

First - career expectations. If not for the buyout, "USAir wide-body captain" would have meant driving the "big" forklift in the Walmart stock room. Narrow body would have been relegated to the pallet jacks. Not that there's anything wrong with these lots in life.

Second - Air Tran and Southwest pilots have yet to agree to BINDING arbitration.
 
What's the jr. West P number currently on property and where they at
And in what equipment?

The P-number of the last returning furloughed West pilot is P3105. Not sure of the equipment.

Are you saying that USAir was NOT days away from parking airplanes when they were saved by buyout? They were/are too big to fail?

Nope, I'm just saying that corporations will do ANYTHING to get the courts and government to see their way...
Take a look at whats happened to the industry in the last 11 years..
An obvious example is the DAL, NW CH11 filing just 2 months before the change in bankruptcy rules.
