Asa Crj900 main gear did not come down. They were going to HPN and diverts to JFK. Everyone got off ok. I hear the wing caught on fire and the fire department put it out. Crew did a fantastic job landing.

So Air Wisconsin had a -200 with an MLG up landing in PHL and Mesa had a -700 MLG up the next day. Now we've gotta -900 with the same issue. Anyone hear on the cause of the Air Wisconsin / Mesa gear issue?

It was the Right main that didn't come down.

Glad everyone is ok. Good job guys!

Well no sh!t. Is fatigue a factor here? Do you know one way or the other? Well played...

I have no idea. I am just saying that a non-fatigued crew deals better with this stuff than one that has been flown to the edge. I hope fatigue was not an issue... I am sure the crew did a great job.

I think many people here have been trying to make the point that our staffing situation is dicey at best, and the potential for trouble is high.

Pilots who are not completely ragged out make fewer mistakes. This type of event is not a time for errors. It would be easy to simply staff our airline appropriately so that fatigue is never an issue. This is not rocket science. Simply staff the place right!

Paging buscap for comment about Regional Pilots.

Clearly, a mainline crew would have obviously got the gear down.

I believe being able to make it through the arduous interview process at Delta qualifies one to be able to simply will the gear down using superior intellect and flying skill.

Just ask the Gen...

ya knowits not only pilots at atlantic southeastern who are tired. how about mtc? they're short staffed too, running ragged. makes one wonder. but mgt seems to be staffed ok:laugh:

It's a damn shame that eyewitness news mispronounced Jack's last name. Flew with him years ago, great guy. I guess some regional pilots aren't so bad after all.......

On a side note, I reckon that's one less A/C to staff for a while......

"Heads Down, Stay Down! Heads Down, Stay Down! Heads Down, Stay Down! Heads Down, Stay Down!" :
gives me the ******************************-chills.

Great job Jack and crew! Jack is a great guy and very professional, glad he was able to get her on the ground safely. Kudos!

No just mean we'll use the 200 to replace the 700 that's replacing the 900 and in return we'll be even shorter on the 200 than we currently are.......

3 rj MLG problems in about 1 year. Something is up, I suspect uplocks will need some inspections.
