I had recurrent ground recently. SH had some intersting charts regarding the future of RJ's. Obviously the 50 seater's will shrink a good deal. There is growth in the 70/90 market. However, the largest growth in 2014 will be 100-125 seat aircraft.

Regarding scope with Delta, I'm not sure how that would work. Delta pilots want the flying whereas management would rather contract it out for a cheaper rate. Unless Delta management offers a nice pay raise to relieve scope, I don't know how this is possible.

SH did not rule out ASA buying a branded airline, such as AirTran, Alaska, Jetblue, or Virgin. I never thought that would even be a possibility. I guess with enough cash, anything is possible. Could you imagine merging with "AirTran"? Happy ASA pilots with p'd off AirTran pilots.

Sounds like ASA is really looking at the big picture and elected not to buy TSA/Compass/Mesaba/Pinnacle. I personally think they are ready to buy off Mesa assets. Who knows, maybe a bigger branded airline.

Thoughts?
 
I'm glad we have drug testing at ASA, but it is obviously not foolproof.
 
The day that ASA fly's 100 seaters is the day that this industry as truly gone to hell....oh wait, Republic already does that with 1 less seat.

ASA is not a company, they're are a unit os Skywest Inc. get over yourself

You are incorrect.. Both Skywest Airlines and Atlantic Southeast are LLC owned by Skywest INC. Both LLCs have their own incomes. With the permission of the INC board of directors or owners any of the LLC's can buy anything they want. Remember all three companies have to file three different tax reports to the IRS. If a big buy is going to happen it may save INC money if ASA is going to buy. Meaning this may save money for the share holders/owners money in the long one.
 
INC will grow ASA, err Atlantic Southeast to keep their costs down. Who knows, they might even combine the companies if it is a viable business solution. INC is holding all the cards, regarding whether or not to send growth to Skywest AIRLINES, Atlantic Southeast, or any other entity it acquires/merges with...

O.K. Trump..... Rather than explaining at length the many vast differences between an LLC and a "wholly-owned subsidiary," (ASA is actually one, and not the other.) I will just go ahead an point out the rather obvious fact that you have no idea what in flaming hell you are spouting off about. ASA is not going to buy anyone.

ASA can not buy anyone, and that has nothing to do with what type of corporation ASA is (an LLC [which it's not] or otherwise). All of ASA's shares are held by a holding company, which means all of the profits and losses basically come into and out of the holding company's account... Unless you know something we don't. When is ASA's next earnings conference call?

Who is JC? I mean I know a JC who is my Lord and Savior, but he isnt on the board at SkyWest, INC.

How much money does ASA have? I thought it was transferred to INC. every day and INC. has the money. I mean INC has over $700 million in the bank, not ASA or SkyWest airlines.

Just because SH didn't "rule it out" doesn't mean it has a snowball's chance in hell of happening.

Well for your info I have two degrees and a masters in business. Judging by your responce and knowledge I wouldn't have guessed you made it out of high school. A good education is hard to come by these days. Maybe I could sit down with you and show you how a p and l works with a whole owned company and how those company's benifit from buying other assets. And yes they can. But I guess with your level understanding I would be throwing my time away.
