NY Times reporter on cnbc says:

"They are knee deep in talks"

"A deal could be several weeks out"

They're "hearing that Tilton would end up running the entire company, structuraly it may end up that USAir is the acquiring entity."
(goes along with what DP said about LOA93 on mar 17)

"The unions are gonna play a huge role in this"

First of all, this "news" isn't really news. Talks have been on-again off-again for years.

Second, there is no good merger scenario for the former AWA pilots, USAPA or not.

Third, there's merger talks, big fat hairy deal. Until the unions reach an agreement on the multitude of serious issues there won't be a merger...
unless somebody goes Chapter 11 first.
