Great news!

But what did the union trade for keeping those 175 on the job???

Nothing traded, just a bunch of "I told you so!" regarding the undermanned status and the upcoming summer.

I think around 80 got furloughed March 1, so that would save close to 100 that were originally slated to go.

Hopefully, this is not some sort of sick April fool's joke!!! : - (

The 80 that were just furloughed were only back about a year and this is furlough # 2.

I am happy for those who dodged the bullet...Please tell me it is not true what I just saw on ALPC (below)... Are approx 244 Eagle FLOW-THROUGHS seriously going to be trained for hire at AA before they let the merged / stapled TWA guys come back????? Please tell me this is not true!:

reply:
Probably 244. All we really know is the arbitrator agreed those people should have been in class with recalled pilots. What we don't know is the final remedy and how it will be implemented. Answer (hopefully) by late May."

Why not? They are senior to the TWA guys. They even looked at total company time to see if the TWA guys were senior and the results were that the Eagle guys were senior using that measure as well.

Let me get this straight. TWA pilots merged with AA pilots and now are all AA pilots. There are hundreds of AA pilots on furlough. American is going to flow pilots from another airline, Eagle, BEFORE they recall all the real AA pilots. YGTBFKM. Someone must have stated this wrong, there is no way that can float. This is most definitely flame bait.

No, you just don't know the facts. There are several hundred AA pilots at Eagle and they were unfairly penalized during the TWA purchase. After a decade of grievances they are finally moving to AA.

"After a decade and finally moving is a stretch." That is not true. Arbitrator hasn't ruled anything, yet. I'm sure they will flow. Just not at this time.

That's the situation

That's about it.

Yes, he has ruled already. At this point there just waiting on the remedy. The Eagle guys I have talked to are hoping he will keep them there until the recall. From what I hear they would be pay protected back to the date they should have went over so they won't lose any pay or retirement benefits while waiting it out at Eagle. Of course why would those guys want to give up 150K a year and top schedules and no commute to be junior at AA. In my opinion they would be happy to stay as long as possible at Eagle.
