He's a bit much and not the nice guy he portrays

Because you and he go way back, do you? I read his book and enjoyed it. I watched the show and enjoyed it. Like him or not, he's done more than his fair share when it comes to educating the public on this profession and trying to win back just a little bit of what we've lost. You, on the other hand, have a link to porn as your signature.

Thinking I'd rather have Sullenberger be the media's archetypal airline pilot than someone like yourself.....

I think the guy with the porn link is cooler. I dunno, maybe you like to smoke pole or something, thats your thing.

Disregard.... Phone issues... Spanking of the Spiky haired, backpack wearing, headphone bopping embarrasment to our profession to be broadcast shortly (in the form of a quote apparently.. I guess I have been too busy engaging in my "gayness" to figure out this whole interweb thing...)

I guess I could type ad nauseum about professionalism, public expectations, and the concept of being an adult, but I imagine that, in your case it would likely be lost. After all, there's no room for responsibility and adulthood in your world... I'm sure the ps3 and the kegerator more or less fill up your little apartment.

You know what.... Forget it. You're right, I'm obviously gay. Far be it for my observations and experience to stand in the way of your sophomoric idiocy. Straighten your backpack and freshen up your hair product, junior. Let the grownups talk for a while.

I wonder how Skiles can get in the cockpit every time without looking at that APU bleed switch and thinking "what if ?".

You suggesting that maybe captain america shoulda been comfortable handling the restart, and let the rookie take the day vmc, light wind, 4000 ft wide river landing?

as for Sully's wife......I'd hit it.:)

The show made mention of Sully and crew being invited to the Obama inauguration. He said roughly; This accident occurred when people wanted change for the last year or so and that he was honored about being invited to the inauguration. I gathered that Sully supports or supported Obama!

Yeah yeah, wiki says he's a registered republican. Nevertheless, at least, he's anti-Bush!)

No, but when he realized they were too slow for an air start, he shoulda thought about hitting the APU bleed switch, since Sully had already started the APU. There's alot to be gained by spinning the motor faster if you want it to re-start.

Now if it had never actually shut-down on it's own, that's another matter all together.

If I were Sully, I'd have probably chosen to take it in myself, but a more experienced F/O might have made the water landing unnecessary. And then I would reiterate how much of the success of the landing was due to circumstances beyond my control.

Total fame - 15 min.
